On ‘Is It Just Me?’, SISTRA pick up from where they left off on their previous two singles, ‘Double Edged Sword’ and ‘Things I Really Mean’, continuing their sonic shift from what has come before this debut album campaign. Their sound incorporates avant-pop, art-pop, and hyper-pop aesthetics, and leans into electronic motifs. The production is sublime, embracing a wide spectrum of genres. With ‘Is It Just Me’, SISTRA once again demonstrates why they are one of the most exciting artists on the scene today.
SISTRA’s debut album, She Won’t Let Go, has been executive produced by Jon Shave (Charli xcx, Miley Cyrus, Jessie Ware), and features production by Chloe Kraemer (The Japanese House, Wet Leg, Rachel Chinouriri), and Micah Jasper (Lily Allen, Ashnikko, Rebecca Black).
Speaking about ‘Is It Just Me?’, SISTRA said:
“Is It Just Me?” is our maximalist, odyssey, freak of a song about loneliness in codependency. Making music with my sister is the best thing ever, but I do sometimes feel a loneliness because we give everything to and take everything from each other. The lyric: “is it just me who knows exactly what I want?” feels like the most Sylvie sentiment ever. It captures the frustration that powers the song and album.
Speaking about their debut album, She Won’t Let Go, SISTRA said:
“Once upon a time, two sisters grew up in a house…how are we still here?! We want to spit out this album before we destroy each other. These songs tell our story of being stuck together for our whole lives, and of our deepest fears and loves. We’re figuring out whether or not we can survive each other, and make it out of this godforsaken house”
For such a new artist, SISTRA are already building considerable momentum. They have received huge support from BBC Radio 1, having been played on Jess Iszatt’s BBC Music Introducing show and Mollie King’s ‘Future Pop’ show, and DJ and presenter Jodie Bryant is also a key champion of the duo. SISTRA’s last single, ‘Things I Really Mean’, was included in various Spotify editorial playlists, including ‘New Music Friday’, ‘New Pop’, and ‘Evolver’, and they have also received press support from the likes of MTV, BRICKS, and Dork, to name a few.
Recently, SISTRA attended multiple events across London Fashion Week, including attending the Maximilian Raynor show in which they were dressed by Maximilian. Last year, SISTRA supported Rose Gray on her 2025 UK tour, and also had sets at Latitude Festival and All Points East.
SISTRA were included within The Great Escapes First 50 and will play the festival in Brighton, 13th – 16th May 2026.
SISTRA are a London-based alt-pop duo made up of sisters Sasha and Sylvie Briggs. SISTRA have one of the freshest and most invigorating sounds on the scene today, and they are set to be one of the most exciting bands in the UK for years to come. Stay tuned for more new music and news in the coming months.
