SNBRN has quickly become a well-known dance and house music artist. With performances at festivals like Coachella, EDC (Electric Daisy Carnival), and Ultra, SNBRN has shown massive growth since starting in 2014 and it looks like it won’t be slowing down anytime soon. SNBRN’s set at Winter in The Rocks lasted over an hour and featured songs that energized the crowd like Drop Top (Mixed) by Chris Lake, Walker & Royce as well as SNBRN’s own, Six Shooter. I spoke to a fan by the name of Mike who decided to immediately purchase his ticket to Winter On The Rocks as soon as he found out that SNBRN was on the lineup.

THEY. is the R&B duo of Dante Jones and Drew Love. They’re signed to Mind of a Genius Records alongside Zhu and they even collaborated together in 2015 on the successful single, “Working for It”, also featuring Skrillex. In February 2017, the duo released their debut studio album, Nü Religion: Hyena which includes songs like Back It Up and the massively popular song, U-RITE. Ironically, the music video for the hit U-RITE was filmed at Red Rocks in 2017, the music video has amassed over 5 million views on YouTube. They.’s Dante Jones is from Denver, Colorado so this show meant even more to him as many family and hometown friends that came to support, even some briefly join They. on stage to dance to U-RITE. It was quite the moment to capture on camera.

The crowd was beyond ready for Zhu by the time his set had finally come. Zhu’s crowd had a vibe that was different than I’m used to at most shows, I’m normally used to pushing through the sea of people to try and get any kind of quality shots, however the crowd here at Red Rocks willingly let me into their circle to capture anything I needed of Zhu. You can absolutely feel the love and good energy radiating off of the crowd.

You can clearly tell that a majority of the crowd were avid listeners because they knew almost all of his music. You couldn’t walk around Red Rocks anywhere without the echoing of Zhu lyrics in your eardrum.

Zhu came out to his smash hit “Dreams” and I just had to use this song in the recap to try to encapsulate the performance Zhu gave. The shows production quality was some of the best I’ve ever seen, I truly felt immersed into the performance. To accompany Zhu’s talented voice and piano skills, he also had other two live musicians with him that including an amazing guitar player and one absolutely talented saxophone player at this show. One of my favorites parts about Winter On The Rocks was not only did Zhu play with them, but he left them alone to have their own solos accompanied with lights coordinated with their music. Red Rocks can hardly ever disappoint when it comes to live shows and Zhu absolutely shattered the expectations.
