The GM Family Earned the Most Awards in the J.D. Power 2024 Initial Quality Awards

General Motors has earned the most model-level awards in the industry in the J.D. Power 2024 U.S. Initial Quality Study with six models earning awards across categories. More than half of GM models also perform among the Top 3 within their respective segments.
The study, now in its 38th year, is based on responses from nearly 100,000 purchasers and lessees of new 2024 model-year vehicles, surveyed after three months of ownership. The study now also incorporates repair visit data with J.D. Power Voice of the Consumer data, gathered July 2023 through May 2024.
“Quality is a priority for GM and earning the most awards in the J.D. Power 2024 U.S. IQS Study of any automaker reflects that commitment,” said Antonio Francavilla, vice president, Global Quality, Supplier Quality and Operational Excellence, General Motors. “As we accelerate into our all-electric future, we consistently work to improve quality from the development of our products, across the company, and at every step of the customer journey. We are listening to customer input, pairing with other data, and using it to make updates to our products more quickly than ever before.”
