THE WLDLFE UNVEIL NEW SINGLE “SATURN”
Following the recent announcement of their much-anticipated new full-length studio album, Revolver, set for release on October 2 via Nashville’s Riser House Records, The Wldlfe – vocalist Jansen Hogan, guitarist / vocalist Carson Hogan, and bassist Jack Crane – unveil “Saturn,” the latest single from their forthcoming LP.
Methodical, mesmerizing and emphatically emotive, “Saturn” – synth-drenched and almost dream-like– dissects the aftermath of a love gone sour.
“You used to hold me on your front porch/ Oh, tell me baby what was that for?” Hogan sings with reluctant resignation.
“The day we wrote “Saturn” was a day without AC in the dead of summer,” Hogan recalls. “Needless to say, there was quite a bit of will power in this session to bring it together. However, the song we were writing ended up being a poetic distraction. We had brought a lyrical idea to LA that at the time was simply “if i could steal the ring of saturn and put it on your hand.” It felt like there was something waiting for us there. The idea of “Saturn” naturally felt sci-fi and more experimental for us and led us down a road sonically that we haven’t really tried yet. I remember jokingly repeating the “I could’ve been everything you wanted if I was your man” line and all of us looking up at each other and being like “That’s actually cool for this.” We’re particularly proud of this one because we tried something out of the ordinary for us and landed on something special.”
That willingness to venture somewhere unfamiliar is emblematic of the larger creative shift behind Revolver. The album marks a new chapter for The Wldlfe, one defined by greater patience, experimentation, and a renewed confidence in their own instincts. After years of writing, recording, touring, and repeating the cycle, the band allowed themselves more space between releases to think, experiment, and revise. That freedom opened the door to a more collaborative and exploratory process—one that puts the music ahead of expectations and outside noise.
Following the release of their previous singles, “Lips” and “Parachute,” “Saturn” is the latest taste of what’s to come with Revolver. On Revolver, the band draws from a broad swath of influences; from classic ‘80s rock and Top 40 pop to alternative and indie. Their eclecticism and instinctive, unforced approach to songwriting come together in a sound equally defined by buoyant hooks and emotional directness.
The Wldlfe’s “Long Way Home” tour in support of Revolver kicks off on October 17 at The Social in Orlando, Florida. The band has long considered its live show its biggest strength, building an audience show by show and city by city through a reputation for dynamic performances and genuine connection.
To date, The Wldlfe have released a series of well-received EPs followed by 2024’s full-length Heaven Is a Place. Sold-out shows across North America (including dates with The Band Camino, Flor, Knox, Nightly, and COIN) and more than 125 million global streams have established the band as a formidable live act with a devoted and growing audience. Now, with Revolver, The Wldlfe are entering their next chapter on their own terms.
