Top Tier Vibes at The Novo With Benee & Dreamer Boy in Los Angeles

The vibes were top tier last Thursday at the Novo in Los Angeles for the final night of Benee’s initial world tour. Dreamer Boy opened the show, bringing his hazy bedroom pop and rappery, dancey fun to the trendy, young crowd. Serving prep school hot boy in a short suited uniform, the singer performed a healthy opening set including “Lavender” and “Puppy Dog” with some of his loyal fans singing along, one even gifting him a lavender bouquet.

Benee took the stage to a full house in a white baby doll dress with the words “God’s Favorite” bedazzled across the chest, mini braids with black bows in her dark hair, dramatic blue eye shadow and, of course, white Moon Boots. Holding a sparkly mic in her ring-adorned fingers, Benee gave the people what they wanted, performing fan favorites like “Find An Island” and “Glitter” among the evening’s offerings, even surprising everyone with a new, as yet unreleased track.

Her stage presence is quirky and fun, her dramatic facial expressions and enthusiastic screams encouraging everyone to dance, sing along, and forget their troubles for a night (SCOTUS who?!). Benee’s charisma while performing was only topped by her genuine excitement and authentic interaction with the crowd, as she humbly accepted handmade gifts like crocheted hats, a beaded bracelet, snail stuffed animals and even a custom painted portrait from fans throughout the night while sharing anecdotes from tour, this being their final show.
Dreamer Boy (and friends) returned for an on-stage farewell dance party for one of the final songs, but Benee’s megahit “Supalonley” was the finale of the night, sending everyone into orbit with giant confetti canon explosions and a trippy light show to twirl in. Happy fans were still singing while spilling out of the theater and onto Olympic Boulevard. With her first tour a success, Benee can now kick off her Moon Boots and rest a while before fans can look forward to some more new material, and hopefully, another show.
