- This year, Acura enters the race with two electrified ARX-06 GTP class prototypes fielded by Acura Meyer Shank Racing with Curb Agajanian.
- The #60 ARX-06 will be driven by Colin Braun and Tom Blomqvist for the full season, with the addition of six-time NTT INDYCAR SERIES champion Scott Dixon for the Michelin Endurance Cup races, including Sebring.
- The #60 trio notched a second-place finish last time out—alongside fourth driver, MSR IndyCar’s Felix Rosenqvist—at the season-opening Rolex 24 at Daytona.
- The #93 GTP represents an increased presence from Honda Racing Corporation USA (HRC US) within the organization as the HRC US team will strategize and engineer the racecar for the very first time in IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship competition.
- Piloting the #93 machine will be full-season drivers Renger van der Zande and Nick Yelloly. They will be joined at Sebring by reigning and three-time NTT INDYCAR SERIES champion Alex Palou.
- The third drivers in both Acura MSR cars are fresh off a successful weekend at the IndyCar season opener in St. Petersburg where Palou drove his #10 Honda-powered IndyCar to victory over teammate Scott Dixon for a Honda 1-2 finish.
- The fourth driver from the #93’s efforts at Daytona, Kaku Ohta—a Honda Racing Corporation development driver—will be making his IMSA LMP2 class debut at Sebring with Era Motorsport.
- Acura and its performance arm, Honda Racing Corporation USA (formerly Honda Performance Development), have recorded a total of nine victories at the 12 Hours of Sebring, including: last year’s GTP victory, three class wins under the Acura banner, four LMP2 class wins under the HPD (now HRC US) umbrella, and a further overall win as HPD in 2016.
