The night kicked off with Brijean, the ideal choice as an opening act for Tycho. Brijean, the musical project fronted by vocalist and percussionist Brijean Murphy and producer Doug Stuart, set the tone with their unique blend of psychedelic rhythms and smooth, funky beats. Their latest album, Macro, is a captivating exploration of dreamy soundscapes, with lush synths and engaging percussion. The combination of their complex musical layers and laid-back groove immediately captivated the audience, pulling them into a sonic world that was both vibrant and immersive. Throughout their performance, Brijean had the crowd swaying and grooving to the rhythmic beats, effectively drawing them into their sonic journey. After their set, fans eagerly lined up at the merchandise table to purchase T-shirts and albums, a testament to the band’s ability to connect with the audience. It was easy to see why Brijean has such a growing fanbase—this is a group with an unmistakable sound that leaves a lasting impression, and it’s likely that many in the crowd will become long-term listeners.

Following Brijean, Tycho took the stage with their own rich, atmospheric sounds, bringing the night to an even higher level. With the release of their latest album, Infinite Health, Tycho continues to build upon their reputation for creating deeply soothing and meditative music that transports listeners into a trance-like state. The band began their set with a few tracks from Infinite Health, including “Phantom” and “Consciousness Felt,” which allowed the audience to experience firsthand the progression of Tycho’s sound. These new tracks have the same signature tranquil, yet emotionally potent qualities that Tycho’s fans have come to love. The crowd, visibly lost in the music, swayed and danced to the smooth, sweeping synths, basking in the serene atmosphere that Tycho is so skilled at crafting.

Tycho also made sure to include some classic fan favorites from their previous albums, such as Dive and Awake. The inclusion of “A Walk,” a beloved track from Dive, mid-show, provided a moment of nostalgia for longtime fans, sparking cheers and applause throughout the venue. This track, which has become an anthem for Tycho’s fanbase, perfectly exemplifies the band’s ability to evoke deep emotion with their signature mix of ambient electronic music and intricate beats. It was clear that the Infinite Health Tour wasn’t just a celebration of new material; it was also a showcase of how Tycho has evolved over the years, experimenting with new sounds and expanding their sonic horizons while still maintaining the elements that made their music so special in the first place.

As the evening progressed, it became evident just how much Tycho has grown as an artist and how their sound has matured with each album. The Infinite Health tour not only attracted longtime fans but also gained new listeners with its fresh and dynamic sound. Tycho’s ability to seamlessly blend ambient textures with more rhythmic elements has allowed them to continually evolve, ensuring that they remain relevant and exciting in the ever-changing music landscape. Their live performance in Atlanta demonstrated both their mastery of their craft and their dedication to creating music that connects deeply with their audience. The show was a beautiful reflection of how Tycho’s music has touched and continues to touch the lives of listeners, old and new alike.
