XAVIERSOBASED SHARES DEBUT ALBUM Xavier
Trailblazing rapper and producer xaviersobased has released his highly-anticipated debut album, Xavier — out now, via 1-chance / Surf Gang Records. The 20-track self-titled LP from the 22-year old New Yorker arrives alongside a black and white music video for “Wheel Man” which features a montage of high energy footage from Xavier’s 2025 sold out North American tour. Xavier is the result of the musical experimentations that define xaviersobased’s 10 prior mixtapes, including recent critic & cult favorites Keep it goin xav (#1 Best Hip-Hop Album of 2024 via Pitchfork) and with 2 (hosted by d9lton). His most mature, concise and assured offering to date – this LP is a musical coming of age that fits equally within New York’s storied rap lineage as it does within the canon of ever evolving internet native micro-genres. “That’s why I called the album Xavier –– it’s me, at its fullest extent,” describes Xavier in an album trailer filmed near his childhood home at the Upper West Side’s Riverside Park, the subject of the album’s handpainted cover art by Kyler Garrison and title of Xavier’s recent and forthcoming tours. Despite being predominantly Xavier, the album also features production and vocal contributions from friends and frequent collaborators OsamaSon, cranes and ksuuvi, along with heavy hitters like Michigan legend Rio Da Yung OG, Sad Boys member Yung Sherman and Grammy-Winning producer Zaytoven.
In March, xaviersobased will return to the road on The Riverside Tour 2.0 with support from fellow 1-c members ksuuvi and Backend. Xavier arrives after a record 2025, a year which saw Xavier surpass one million monthly listeners, release lauded singles like “Walk To Me”, “Double Whammy” and Once More EP (Pitchfork 8.0), sell-out a national tour, and collaborate across the underground with artists like Nettspend (“Impact” ), Osamason (“uncomfy”), and Che ( “MANNEQUIN”) in addition to opening for Yung Lean and Bladee.
