New York-based rock band Telescreens returns with “Burns”, their first single of 2024. This latest offering follows the release of their 2023 EP Star Wide which includes singles “Games,” “Lost” and “Phone Booth.”

Written almost five years ago, lead singer and guitarist Jackson Hamm speaks to the track’s conception sharing, “It’s the oldest song on the album. I wrote it after hours of beating my head against the wall trying to write an essay in my college library. The whole song came out of me in under 10 minutes. I recorded it years later after I lost money trying to capitalize on the game stop short squeeze.”

Leading up to the release of Star Wide, 2023 saw a series of local shows that brought the band from Rock clubs like Arlene’s Grocery and Jean’s to Baby’s All Right and most recently to a sold-out Bowery Ballroom. Now, following a run of shows at SXSW, the band set their sights on their first festival performance at Governor’s Ball in New York City.

At this point, it’s fair to say the band has already cemented their status as ‘an act that needs to be seen live’ while earning fans like Juliette Lewis and CELINE creative director Hedi Slimane as well as media coverage from the likes of Lyrical Lemonade, V Magazine, and PAPER Magazine along the way.
