Pan Arcadia returns to NYC’s Bowery Ballroom for an epic night

This past weekend, Brooklyn based band Pan Arcadia made their return to NYC’s Bowery Ballroom. Along with their own infectious blend of pop, rock ‘n soul, the night included a diverse set of acts that ranged from beach rock and reggae vibes, to 70’s glam rock and beyond.
Kicking off the night was fellow Brooklyn natives Dune Blue. Since they first brought their self-described blend of psych surfer reggae rock in 2022, the trio have quickly built a following. And that was evident from the first few chords when the floor erupted with cheering fans, singing along to tracks from last year’s EP, Thunderland. The guys In Dune were clearly having a great time and gave it all they had, right up to the point where they had to say good night.

From there, NYC indie rockers Savoia took the stage and the crowd in a whole other direction. From the moment frontman Lucas Allan emerged, the crowd went from a beach party vibe to a more glam, classic rock vibe complete with adorning female fans screaming for Allan. And he made the most of it, engaging the crowd as he walked the stage, waving his stand-less mic pole adorned with colorful scarves like he was a mix between Freddy Mercury and a young Steven Tyler.

Next up was musician and model Bec Lauder who brought her hard hitting, sultry sounds to the stage as evidenced by her massive single ‘Hard to Get’. While it was a shorter set than either of the preceding openers, Lauder killed it with the time she had. Whether it was engaging the crowd, her fellow bandmates, or just jamming out on guitar, Lauder was not afraid to get down and dirty on the stage by sets end.

By the time Pan Arcadia took the stage, the crowd was amped from the back-to-back assault of the three opening acts. And the six members of Arcadia still managed to take it up a notch. From the get-go these guys came to rock and they left nothing on the stage. With the dual guitar stylings of Dylan Kelly and Gabe Gonzales, bassist Henry McGrath, drummer Brian Duke, Jimmy Brewer on trumpet, and vocalist Eamon Rush, it’s a wall of sound that lifts you up and gets you moving.

And while most bands have a designated frontman, the members of Arcadia are all out front and center at certain points to play a solo, bust a move, or like happened this night – make way for NYC’s famed Buddy the Rat who jumped onstage for a song. For the finale, members of each opening act joined Arcadia onstage for a rousing rendition of the Rolling Stones classic ‘You Can’t Always Get What You Want’. But as the song goes, “if you try sometimes, you just might find, you get what you need”. And for those of us lucky enough to be in the audience that night, we certainly did.
