2025 Nissan Armada PRO-4X Named ‘Full-Size SUV of Texas’ by TAWA

The Texas Auto Writers Association (TAWA) has named the 2025 Nissan Armada PRO-4X the “Full-Size SUV of Texas” following its performance at the annual Texas Truck Rodeo. The honor recognizes Armada’s bold new direction, with the PRO-4X grade bringing enhanced off-road capability and rugged styling to Nissan’s flagship SUV.
“The updated Armada shows that Nissan is a force to be reckoned with,” said Cory Fourniquet, president, Texas Auto Writers Association. “The new look is clean and simple while still giving a strong presence on the road or trail, especially in this PRO-4X trim. The powertrain is exceptional, and the interior is perhaps the nicest in the class. The team at Nissan should be very proud for this win against strong competition for the full-size SUV of Texas.”
Armada PRO-4X is powered by a 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 engine that delivers 425 horsepower and 516 lb-ft of torque1. It offers up to 8,500 pounds of towing capacity2 and features a wide-ratio 9-speed automatic transmission for confident performance on and off the road.
Designed for adventure, the PRO-4X includes an adaptive electronic air suspension3, electronic locking rear differential, underbody skid plates and all-terrain tires. Its exterior stands out with a high-clearance front bumper, Lava Red tow hooks and black-painted 20-inch alloy wheels. Inside, Lava Red accents and premium materials create a rugged yet refined cabin.
With this category win, 2025 Armada PRO-4X is now eligible for TAWA’s top honor, “SUV of Texas,” which will be announced at a later date.
