Pistolz & Pearlz marks the second official release of the year for the Florida native and serves as the follow-up to last year’s release of KUTTHROAT BILL: VOL. 1. The album features several rising stars like EST Gee, VVSNCE, Loe Shimmy, Gordito, Lil Crix, WizDaWizard, Wam SpinThaBin, and Syko Bob. The 21-track album was first teased last week across Kodak’s socials and has been supported by several fan screenings of his accompanying short film in NYC, LA, Atlanta, and Miami. Kodak will continue to support the album this summer with performances along Lil Durk’s ‘Sorry For The Drought’ Tour kicking off 7/28 in Tampa. Tickets can be purchased at https://www.officialkodakblack.com/tour/. With over 24 million monthly listeners on Spotify and over 21 billion global streams, Kodak’s presence in music is well-established and shows no signs of slowing down.
On Pistolz & Pearlz’s standout single, “No Love For A Thug,” Kodak gives fans a glimpse at his vulnerable side. His first release since last year’s KUTTHROAT BILL: VOL. 1., Kodak unleashes his most inner thoughts over a slow hip-hop beat. KUTTHROAT BILL: VOL. 1 continued what was a blockbuster 2022 for the FL-based rapper, following the success of his RIAA gold-certified album BACK FOR EVERYTHING, and its chart-topping, RIAA Platinum-certified hit single, “Super Gremlin.” The track – which spent 13 weeks at #1 on Urban radio mainstream charts nationwide and is joined by an official music video now with over 270 million views HERE
The massive hit earned a 2022 BET Hip Hop Awards nomination for “Song of the Year.” Kodak also gave a blazing performance at the 2022 BET Hip Hop Awards, performing a medley that honored the late PnB Rock and also touched two of his recent hits. As if that weren’t enough, Black was featured on such hugely popular hits as Kendrick Lamar’s top 5 smash, “Silent Hill (Ft. Kodak Black),” DJ Khaled’s “It Ain’t Safe” (Ft. Nardo Wick and Kodak Black),” and King Combs’ “Can’t Stop Won’t Stop (Feat. Kodak Black).”
BACK FOR EVERYTHING, featuring “Super Gremlin,” debuted at #2 on the Billboard 200 upon its February 2022 release – Black’s fourth top 10 album on the chart. Along with “Super Gremlin,” highlights of the 19-track project include such tracks as “Usain Boo,” “Grinding All Season,” “On Everything,” “Vulnerable (Free Cool),” “Midas Touch,” and the TikTok favorite, “Love & War.” His previous releases include 2021’s HAPPY BIRTHDAY KODAK and HAITIAN BOY KODAK, 2020’s BILL ISRAEL, and 2018’s RIAA platinum-certified album, DYING TO LIVE. The latter project includes the 6x RIAA platinum-certified “ZEZE“ featuring Travis Scott and Offset (now boasting over 2 billion global streams), as well as the 2x platinum-certified “Calling My Spirit,” joined by an official companion video with over 141 million views on YouTube HERE. DYING TO LIVE marked Kodak Black’s first full-length release following his 2018 debut R&B album, HEARTBREAK KODAK, highlighting a different side of Kodak, exploring his vocal ability and new melodies to create his own R&B sound.
HEARTBREAK KODAK was preceded by 2018’s PROJECT BABY TWO: ALL GROWN UP, the deluxe edition of 2017’s platinum-certified mixtape, PROJECT BABY TWO. To kick off 2018, Kodak Black released the official video to his 3x platinum hit track, ”Roll In Peace,” featuring XXXTentacion, now with over 116 million views. In addition to his own tracks, Kodak was seen on 2018’s 3x platinum smash hit, ”Wake Up In The Sky“ with Gucci Mane and Bruno Mars. The track, along with its companion video now amassing over 494 million views, marks the first collaboration between the three labelmates. 2017 saw Kodak put out several impressive releases, including his RIAA platinum-certified album, PAINTING PICTURES, the 3x platinum smash single “Tunnel Vision,” the 2x platinum “No Flockin,” and his gold-certified collaboration with the late, great PnB Rock, “Too Many Years.”
