CAROLINE POLACHEK RELEASES NEW SINGLE “DANG”
After having one of the biggest releases of 2023 with her critically acclaimed album Desire, I Want To Turn Into You, Caroline Polachek offers up a taste of what is still yet to come from the avant-pop singer-songwriter, with “DANG.” Produced by Polachek herself & Cecile Believe (SOPHIE, Shygirl, Dorian Electra, etc.),with additional production by Danny L Harle (Charli XCX, Rina Sawayama, Flume, etc.), “DANG” is a testament to Caroline’s ingenuity in the pop sphere. Although lyrically effortless, the labyrinthine production sits in a special place creatively with Caroline’s cheeky lyrical nuances shining throughout. From start to finish, the song’s feverish distortions combined alongside Caroline’s synth-like vocals create a sonically rich hyperpop masterpiece in “ DANG.”

Caroline debuted a special live performance of “Dang” for The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, wherein she presented a Ted Talk from a fever dream–an appropriately bewildering powerpoint presentation for such a forward-thinking song. Watch the full performance broadcast on CBS on October 24th and online now HERE.
After a sold-out headlining tour in North America including a sold-out Radio City show earlier this year, Polachek delivered one of her best live performances yet for NPR’s Tiny Desk, with stripped-down versions of “Pretty In Possible,” “Blood And Butter,” “Sunset,” and “I Believe” off of her critically praised 2023 album Desire, I Want To Turn Into You. Polachek’s stellar renditions garnered praise from the likes of Rolling Stone, Pitchfork, Consequence, Hypebeast, The Fader, and many more.
Polachek’s profile has grown exponentially since the release of Desire, I Want To Turn Into You, along with her 2019 experimental pop masterpiece PANG, which cemented her as a generational talent. Since launching her solo career it’s been nonstop from, headlining The Spiraling Tour globally, the direct opening spot on Dua Lipa’s 2022 North American Future Nostalgia Tour, to Coachella, Lollapalooza, Glastonbury, Primavera, All Points East, Governors Ball, Pitchfork Music Festival and Outside Lands, as well as late-night performances on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Jimmy Kimmel Live! and The Late Night Show with James Corden. Standout viral tracks like “So Hot You’re Hurting My Feelings,” have contributed to the album’s 175M global streams and counting.
