CHARLOTTE DAY WILSON RELEASES NEW PROJECT PATCHWORK

Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist Charlotte Day Wilson releases her new project Patchwork, via Stone Woman Music / XL Recordings. Known for her fusion of contemporary R&B, jazz, and deeply expressive vocals, Wilson enters a new creative chapter with Patchwork, a project shaped by imperfection, instinct, and emotional honesty. Originally conceived as demos during a moment of self-doubt, the songs revealed themselves as complete in their rawness, embracing vulnerability over polish as both ethos and sound.

Speaking on the project, Charlotte Day Wilson says, “Patchwork is my little mosaic of imperfection. I realized how much more beautiful my life and my music were when I let go of expectations & unrealistic standards and just followed my instincts. Said fuck u to pressure and went back to my original process of creating- making songs in my room without knowing what for. I don’t know what else to say other than this music feels deeply true to my soul. I’m aligned with myself and what a feat that is.”

Following her highly anticipated return with last year’s singles “Selfish” and “High Road”, Wilson kicked off 2026 with “Lean,” featuring fellow Torontonian Saya Gray, expanding her sonic world with renewed intimacy and emotional precision. Quickly follwed by Monday’s release of “If Only”. Singles “High Road” and “Selfish”, both co-written and co-produced by Saya Gray, Ace G, and Braden Sauder, previewed this evolution, pairing soft piano, layered harmonies, and haunting lyricism with Wilson’s commanding yet tender voice.

Patchwork arrives following a defining period of artistic elevation, which includes Wilson being honored with the 2025 Innovator Award at Billboard Canada’s Women in Music event – the first time the accolade has been presented in Canada – recognizing her impact as a vocalist, producer, and creative visionary. Since her breakout 2016 EP CDW, Wilson has steadily built a singular catalog spanning Stone Woman (2018), her debut album Alpha (2021), and Cyan Blue (2024), earning critical acclaim from The New York Times, NPR, Pitchfork, The Guardian, ELLE, Harper’s Bazaar, The FADER, and more. Her work has received Polaris Music Prize recognition, multiple Juno Award nominations, and the 2018 Prism Prize for the video “Work”, while her influence extends well beyond her own releases – with artists including Drake, John Mayer, and James Blake sampling her music, collaborations with Kaytranada, BADBADNOTGOOD, Syd, Ouri, and a recent arena tour with Giveon. With Patchwork, Wilson reframes her journey as a nonlinear collection of moments – stitched together with intention, honesty, and restraint.
