CHIQUIS SURPRISES HER FANS BY RELEASING BRAND NEW MARIACHI VERSION OF FIRST SINGLE “PALOMA BLANCA”

THE ORIGINAL “PALOMA BLANCA” BANDA SONG WAS RELEASED EIGHT YEARS AGO ANDWAS WRITTEN AND DEDICATED TO HER MOTHER JENNI RIVERA WHO PASSED AWAY TEN YEARS AGO

Two-time Latin GRAMMY award-winning singer-songwriter and 2023 GRAMMY nominee CHIQUIS, surprised fans releasing a 2022 Mariachi version of the her first single ever, “Paloma Blanca” which was originally released as a banda track in 2014. Produced by Cindy Shea, Ulises Lozano El Licenciado, and Janney Marin (Chiquis), written by Janney Marin (Chiquis) and Claudia Brant, and accompanied by the all-female,Mariachi Divas; the new “Paloma Blanca,” underscores Chiquis’ evolution as a singer. 

“When ‘Paloma Blanca’ was originally released, I wasn’t entirely happy with the way it was recorded. I have always wanted to re-release it. My vocals and delivery have greatly evolved over these last eight years and I feel better than ever about my music so I decided to record it alongside Mariachi Divas. It will always be dedicated to my mom who passed away ten years ago but I also wanted to re-record it for her fans as well as mine,”expressed Chiquis. 

The gorgeous video for “Paloma Blanca” featuring an ethereal performance of Chiquis dressed in white was produced and directed by Oscar Eden and shot at JK Media Studios in North Hollywood, CA.

Last month Chiquis was nominated to a 2023 GRAMMY award for Best Regional Mexican Album and garnered her second Latin GRAMMY award in the Best Banda Album category, for Abeja Reina.’ The artist was the first female solo artist to receive this award in 2020 for her album Playlist.’

Chiquis’ fourth album ‘Abeja Reina’ was released in May.Most of the album’s tracks are banda and Chiquis also includes some cumbia, R&B and rap-style fusions, in Spanish with some English, reflecting her 200 percent essence and culture, as she considers herself 100% Mexican and 100% American. 

Executive-produced by Janney Marin (Chiquis) and produced by Ulises Lozano El Licenciado, Luciano Luna, Richard Bull and Martin Castro, ‘Abeja Reina’has 18 tracks that include 5 songs written by Chiquis(“Abeja Reina,” “Entre Besos y Copas,” “Cualquiera,” “La Ex,” and “A Lo Menso.”) The album was recorded at studios in Laurel Canyon in Los Angeles, California; Mazatlan, Sinaloa, and Brownsville, Texas.
