EZRA COLLECTIVE CAPTURE PURE EUPHORIA ON NEW SINGLE + VIDEO “JUBILEE FEELING”
Mercury Prize- and BRIT Award-winning Ezra Collective treat us with a “Jubilee Feeling”, the euphoric third single and music video from their forthcoming fourth studio album, Here Because of Hope, out September 11 on Partisan Records. The first instrumental track unveiled from the record, “Jubilee Feeling” represents the album’s London movement, bringing together the musical traditions of UK jazz and the funky house of the 2010s into one radiant, ever-expanding groove.
As the emotional culmination of an album tracing the movement of people, culture and music from West Africa to the Caribbean and ultimately to London, “Jubilee Feeling” lives up to its name, radiating optimism, unity and the unshakable sense of hope at the album’s heart. Built around an infectious groove that grows more expansive with each turn, the track captures Ezra Collective at their most exhilarating, with Joe Armon-Jones delivering a breathtaking piano performance that drives the song’s joyful momentum.
“Jubilee is a word that’s very precious to me,” says bandleader Femi Koleoso. “It’s the name of the church I grew up at and the youth group I work at, but its meaning is what moves me most: a year when debts are settled, prisoners are set free and everyone gets to start again. That feeling of freedom you maybe don’t even deserve is such a picture of euphoric joy. The Funky House movement of the early 2010s gave us that same feeling. As a band, we love that music — it makes us dance and makes us feel great. So ‘Jubilee Feeling’ marries UK Jazz and Funky House to embody that joy: a joy you almost don’t deserve.”
The release arrives shortly following the announcement of Ezra Collective’s November 14 Los Angeles headline show at The Regent Theater, part of their upcoming North American run. The band will also play San Francisco, Toronto, New York City and Montréal this fall, bringing the joyful, full-body live show that Pitchfork praised as “riotously fun” to audiences across the continent.
Across Here Because of Hope, Ezra Collective trace the movement of Black music across Africa, through the Caribbean and ultimately into Britain, celebrating the sounds, cultures and communities that have shaped generations of music while exploring how hope transforms pain into moments of joy. Lead single “Only Love” ft. Pa Salieu opened the album’s West African movement, while “Well Organised” ft. Lila Iké marked the beginning of its Caribbean chapter. With “Jubilee Feeling,” the band lands in London, the city that shaped them and the place where those histories, rhythms and communities collide into something distinctly their own.
Pitchfork recently named Here Because of Hope one of its Most Anticipated Albums of Summer 2026, calling it “the latest in a series of flash points for the unstoppable Ezra Collective” and praising the band’s “riotously fun live show that has made them British national treasures.”
The forthcoming project marks a bold new chapter for Ezra Collective following a historic few years that saw the band become the first jazz act to win the Mercury Prize before going on to win the BRIT Award for Group of the Year. Expansive, emotional and deeply rhythmic, the album follows the journey of Black music across continents while celebrating the communities, traditions and cultures that continue to shape it today.
Over the past decade, Ezra Collective have become one of the defining British bands of their generation, redefining British jazz on stages from Wembley Arena and the Royal Albert Hall to New York’s Blue Note, Glastonbury, Central Park SummerStage and Sydney Opera House.
