GRAMMY-winning artist/producer Hit-Boy releases new posse cut “Start Dissin'” (feat. BabyTron, AZ Chike & Spank Nitti James)
On the heels of “Wheel of Fortune” featuring Detroit rap staple Peezy, 3x GRAMMY Award-winning artist and producer Hit-Boy has dropped his newest single “Start Dissin’” (feat. BabyTron, AZ Chike & SpankNittiJames), alongside an accompanying video. Also out today, is TiaCorine‘s latest single, “Backyard” with JID – produced by Hit-Boy. “Start Dissin’” arrives just a month after the release of “What’s the Deal?”, Hit-Boy’s first-ever independent drop, which was followed by “Eat Couch” (feat. Spank Nitti James) and “Wheel of Fortune” (feat. Peezy), in an ongoing influx of creative freedom as he embraces his newfound independence. “Start Dissin'” finds Hit-Boy embracing the new generation of Hip-Hop across coasts, merging the playful West Coast sound of Spank Nitti James and AZ Chike with Detroit spitter BabyTron’s witty punchlines. With the four artists going back-back trading verses over a twinkling SoCal beat produced by Scott Storch, Hit-Boy creates a modern-day posse cut after famously producing A$AP Rocky‘s 2013 track “1Train” (feat. Kendrick Lamar, Joey Bada$$, Danny Brown, Action Bronson, Big K.R.I.T. & Yelawolf). The accompanying music video for “Start Dissin'” was shot in Beverly Hills at a recent star-studded day party sponsored by D’Usse, Don Londres and Hoodville in celebration’s of HIt-Boy‘s freedom, with the likes of Mario, N3EON, PlaqueBoyMax and others in attendance, and over 50,000 people tuned into its livestream. Hit-Boy recently linked up with his close friend and collaborator Jay-Z, who helped him exit his 18-year publishing deal in July. With the next chapter of his career officially underway, Hit-Boy is embracing his influential role as an all-around creative and artist in modern-day Hip-Hop while hitting a hard reset and amplifying his creative freedom, on which Hit-Boy shares, “I’ve never felt more empowered as an artist… after 20 years in the game, I feel like I’m just getting started”.
