J. Stalin teases his coupe collection in “Bubble Gum Candy Fruit” video

Stalin’s hustled harder than anyone to earn this life of luxury. If he wants to spend it counting his coupes with a crew of models. In the drone-shot video for “Bubble Gum Candy Fruit (ft. Beeda Weeda & June),” the West Oakland emcee gives us a taste of his car collection—specifically: a snow-white BMW, a classic Lincoln cruiser, and a bright red Dodge Charger — while posted up with fellow Oakland rapper Beeda Weeda at a local graffiti-adorned basketball court, both rappers entertaining their ladies and going bar for bar with each other.

Stalin continues to emerge the triumphant underdog. Growing up in the Cypress Village projects, he was deeply affected by the crack-blighted urban 1980s. From his older brother’s death when Stalin was just 5 years old, to his mother’s long-term battle with addiction, Stalin grew up fast and took care of his family in the process. Now, he’s a multi-hyphenate businessman, running his Livewire record label and Oakland barbershops, and prolifically releasing music on his own and with longtime collaborator Dj. Fresh. “Bubble Gum Candy Fruit, (ft. Beeda Weeda & June),” springs from Stalin and Fresh’s recently released double-LP, Miracle & Nightmare On 10th Street, Pt. 2
