Jesse & Joy‘s music isn’t just a collection of endearing melodies. Today, the Mexican duo releases Lo Que Nos Faltó Decir (What We Failed to Say), their most ambitious album to date: an intimate manifesto produced by the multi-award-winning Martin Terefe (Shawn Mendes, Jason Mraz, Train) alongside Jesse, recorded across London, New York, Los Angeles, Bogotá, and Mexico City.
This new body of work isn’t about chasing trends. It moves with intention. Lo Que Nos Faltó Decir brings together essential figures from the Latin music universe like Carlos Vives, Banda MS, Elsa y Elmar, Eden Muñoz, and American producer and songwriter Poo Bear, to build an album that dares to break free from genre rigidity, yet never loses its core: emotion.
The focus track is “Empinar el Codo,” an unexpected collaboration with Carlos Vives that not only surprises with its melancholic lyricism and festive flavor, but also with its ability to re-signify shared pain through irony, tenderness, and emotional honesty. The song doesn’t romanticize escapism, but it does acknowledge it as part of the human experience, especially when love departs and only the drinks remain as witnesses.
Jesse & Joy, who have built a career based on creative integrity, find the perfect excuse in this album to explore the nuances of their artistic duality. Their bicultural upbringing, between rancheras and the Carpenters, boleros and Fleetwood Mac, results in a boundless musical proposal that naturally glides between pop, regional, singer-songwriter, and contemporary soul.

Additionally, the Jesse & Joy documentary premiering on HBO will feature original music from the album.
