LATIN GRAMMY WINNER ELA TAUBERT RELEASES HIGHLY ANTICIPATED DEBUT ALBUM ‘PREGUNTAS A LAS 11:11’
While Gen Z is often celebrated for their emotional honesty, when it comes to love, the same transparency isn’t always so clear-cut. That’s where Colombian singer-songwriter and Latin GRAMMY artist ELA TAUBERT steps in and gives voice to those unanswered questions and quiet doubts with her debut album, ‘PREGUNTAS A LAS 11:11’. Inspired by the childhood ritual of making wishes at 11:11, the album, produced by KEVN, dives deep into the exploration of love, heartbreak, and self-discovery—woven together through the kind of questions that keep us up at night.
Designed to be experienced from beginning to end, ‘PREGUNTAS A LAS 11:11’ opens with “¿QUIÉN DIRÍA?,”the only track about the excitement—and fear—of falling in love again despite past wounds. From there, the journey dives into a post-breakup world with her global smash hit and heart-break anthem “¿CÓMO PASÓ?” (over 200 million Spotify streams, platinum certified in the U.S. and Mexico, gold in Spain), followed by the focus track “¿TRATO HECHO?”which is about hesitating to embrace the right love after being stuck in the wrong one, and “¿ES EN SERIO?” – a ballad co-produced by legendary hitmaker Max Martin (Taylor Swift, The Weeknd, Justin Bieber) that blends vulnerability and sarcasm as it reflects on trust, worth, and broken promises.
The album then shifts into a more introspective space with tracks like “¿TE IMAGINAS?” and “¿UNA VEZ MÁS?,” both drawn from ELA’s most vulnerable years (15–25), capturing the messiness of growth and acceptance of imperfection. A standout moment comes with “¿CÓMO HACES?,” a heartfelt tribute to her mom, Erika, which has taken off on TikTok as a go-to anthem of gratitude and love, now dedicated by fans to parents, friends, siblings, and even pets. A particularly special track for ELA, “¿CÓMO HACES?” also features live fan vocals from her sold-out ‘Metamorfosis Tour’ show in Bogotá where ELA invited her audience to sing the chorus, capturing 15 takes before landing the perfect recording, which now graces the song’s conclusion.
True to ELA’s dual-color view of life, blue for vulnerability and pink for empowerment, the second half of ‘PREGUNTAS A LAS 11:11’ shifts into her bold, defiant “pink” era. Songs like “¿QUIÉN SOY PARA JUZGAR?” humorously revisit high school heartbreak, while “¿QUÉ MÁS QUIERES?” channels a fierce mix of anger and sentiment, and “¿POR QUÉ SOY ASÍ?” becomes a powerful anthem of self-acceptance, healing, and walking away from toxic patterns without regret.
The rollercoaster ride continues with the 11th track “PREGUNTAS,” whose title isn’t a question, unlike the rest of the track list, and marks ELA’s most personal moment on the album—a reflection of everything she feels at 25 years old and the progress made as a person. The album then continues with “¿PARA QUE?,” a track that dips into country/folk sounds for the first time fused with Latin pop/rock, “¿POR QUE NO ME FUI ANTES?” and “¿Y SI ERAS TU?” which was the first release that teased the album’s theme and cycle back in 2023. ELA’s debut album ends with star-powered collaborations: “¿CÓMO PASÓ? (CON JOE JONAS),” performed live at this year’s Latin GRAMMYs after ELA won ‘Best New Artist,’ and a live version of “¿CÓMO PASÓ? (CON MORAT),” recorded during Morat’s sold-out stadium show in Chile when the band surprised fans by inviting ELA on stage.
