mau5trap, the leading independent label from deadmau5 is looking to the future with exciting new music offerings in the dance music space through its releases and events. Since 2012, the hallmark of all things mau5trap is We Are Friends (WAF), the music compilation series with the clear idea of giving airtime to fresh, newly discovered talent from the label. On January 9, 2026, mau5trap will release the first of two discs for its 12th volume We Are Friends vol 12.
The We Are Friends series has become a launchpad for some of electronic music’s most exciting new talent, introducing the world to REZZ (Vol 4), i_o (Vol 7), ATTLAS (Vol 3), BlackGummy (Vol 4) and No Mana (Vol 5). The artists featured on this upcoming new edition are no exception as found on its track list revealed today. Hailing from Italy Ciauru, leads the charge with club-oriented track “Supersonic Electronic (on acid)” packed with tribal rhythms, beeps and bloops punching in all the right places.
For the only remix on disk 1 set for release December 5 to follow “Supersonic Electronic (on acid),” mau5trap taps emerging artists &friends and Moeaike for a retake on deadmau5 classic “Strobe”. &friends continues to solidify his place as one of the most exciting and intentional artists in the global electronic scene following the breakout success of his singles “Temptation” with Bipolar Sunshine and “Jackie B.” Italian duo Moeaike known for their 2024 breakout hit “Mala Fama” are quickly becoming a force to be reckoned with in the electronic music scene. Exclusively for WAF 12, together they join a prestigious list of artists which include Layton Giordani, Dimension and Lane 8 to officially remix “Strobe.”
