LEON BRIDGES: 2025 MET GALA FASHION & BEAUTY CREDITS

GRAMMY Award winning Texas recording artist and songwriter Leon Bridges attended the 2025 Costume Institute Benefit at The Metropolitan Museum of Art in celebration of The Costume Institute’s 2025 spring exhibition, Superfine: Tailoring Black Style.
Leon was a guest of Vogue and wore a custom look by London based designer Nicholas Daley with an Urban Jürgensen Tourbillon Pocket Watch by Derek Pratt, jewelry from David Yurman, broaches and cufflinks from Joseph Saidian & Sons, vintage 1970’s shoes, Seymoure gloves and TOM FORD sunglasses.
Says Leon Bridges, “Today marks such a special moment in my journey. My musical path has always been deeply intertwined with how I carry myself aesthetically. There were times I questioned my expression when it didn’t seem to resonate widely but it always kept me grounded. I was inspired by those who came before me, the trailblazers whose presence and style made space for mine.
For the 2025 Met Gala, I’m honored to wear the brilliant Nicholas Delay. I couldn’t imagine a more fitting collaborator to embody this year’s theme, “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style.” This theme pays homage to the legacy of Black dandyism, a legacy that lives in me. It’s more than fashion; it’s a statement of identity, history, and pride.
For over a decade, this spirit has shaped not only my artistry but the very way I move through the world. Tonight, I walk in that tradition with gratitude.”
Says Nicholas Daley, “I’m extremely honored to collaborate with Leon Bridges for this year’s Met Gala, especially given such a poignant theme that celebrates Superfine: Tailoring Black Style while paying homage to Black Dandyism—something I believe Leon naturally embodies through his music and personal style. I hope the bespoke outfit I’ve created reflects a harmony between our crafts and tells a shared story.
To me, Black Dandyism is a powerful representation of craftsmanship, rebellion, and culture. It’s an attitude that I feel both Leon and I express in our respective work.
This being my first Met Gala—and coinciding with the 10-year milestone of running my brand, as well as having our pieces exhibited at the Met—I feel deeply humbled. I can’t wait to see how designs like this can inspire the next generation of creatives to reach their own iconic moments in fashion.”
