London & Edinburgh Based Katherine Aly Shares Defiant New Single, ‘SHOW NO PAIN [for the avoidant]’

Katherine Aly, New Music, Music, Singer, Songwriter, Entertainment News

London & Edinburgh based alt-pop riser Katherine Aly releases the defiant new single, ‘SHOW NO PAIN [for the avoidant]’, the latest release as part of Aly’s series of singles, all 2 minutes 22 seconds exactly, released on the 22nd of every 2nd month.

Showcasing more of Katherine’s stylistic and instantly recognisable songwriting approach, ‘SHOW NO PAIN’ turns heartbreak into empowerment, championing self-worth, resilience, and the strength of walking away. A rich musical arrangement which brings sharp R&B influences to the stylistic playful electronics and alt-pop tendencies. Thick bass, crunching drum machines, bubbling synths, samples and the layers of vocals create a track which balances its pop tendencies with a flourishing alternative creativity.

Talking about the recording of the single, Katherine explains: “ Let’s unpack the toxic dance of emotional unavailability, shall we? He’s withdrawing, she’s got low self-worth, but the narrator’s voice flips the script: let him feel the omnipresence of your absence, girl!

Your strength lies in refusing to perform emotional labor for someone who won’t even try! ‘Show no pain’ is not surrender, it’s a checkmate; a textbook for how to deal with someone who is emotionally MIA.”

Katherine Aly is a rising alt-pop artist known for her genre-defying sound, striking visual identity, and fearless storytelling. With a distinctive orange aesthetic and a commitment to pushing creative boundaries, she has garnered praise from tastemaker press including Wonderland Magazine, Earmilk, Notion, Ones To Watch, Tenement TV, and The Skinny to name a few.

BBC Introducing has described Katherine Aly’s songs as “educational”, a fitting reflection of her distinctive lyrical approach, which blends storytelling with a sharp ethical lens on contemporary relationships. Her music operates as a form of humorous anthropological research, set against an avant-pop soundscape that fuses alternative pop with experimental edge.

Having received airplay on BBC Radio 1 and BBC 6 Music alongside ongoing support from BBC Introducing Scotland, including a live session, a showcase performance in Edinburgh, and named their “Future-Ready Artist of 2026” where she was praised as a “creative genius”, Katherine Aly continues to position herself as one of the UK’s most compelling new alt-pop voices. With a rapidly expanding catalogue of achievements across recorded and live performance work, Katherine has opened for the likes of Honeyblood, surpassed 200K+ streams on Spotify, and accumulated over 2.2 million TikTok views via user-generated content featuring her track FREUD [for the mama’s boy].
