QUADECA SHARES NEW SINGLE & VISUALIZER “HELL OF A TIME”
Producer, singer, rapper, and visual artist Quadeca has officially released his new single, “Hell of a time”, via his own label X8 Music alongside an accompanying visualizer.
Following the surreal spontaneity of “Dark Magic” and the existential reflections of “Baby Steps,” “Hell of a time” serves as the third chapter in Quadeca’s Life 1 rollout, marking another step in his evolution by embracing his most pop-forward songwriting yet without sacrificing the emotional depth and unpredictability that have become hallmarks of his music. Built from bouncy chopped drums, playful synth chords, layered harmonies, and an orchestra of digital stock instruments, , the groove-heavy track dances through the memories of a relationship, embracing the idea that no matter what happens, they had a hell of a time. As the song unfolds, however, the instrumental gradually transforms into something darker and more bittersweet while the chorus repeats unchanged, allowing the very same words to take on an entirely new emotional weight. Once the groove gives way to sweeping strings, ethereal synths, and a wistfully reverberant reprise of the once-gleeful hook, the track becomes a bittersweet meditation on memory and acceptance.
The accompanying visualizer brings the song’s imaginative world to life. Opening with a close-up of Quadeca’s synthesizers illuminated by strobing lights that pulse with each note, the video gradually pulls back to reveal him conducting an invisible orchestra inside a classroom. With no musicians in sight, the flashing keyboards become the performers themselves, transforming an array of synthesizers into a living ensemble that mirrors the song’s inventive production.
Along with the new single, Quadeca has announced his Life 1 North American fall tour in support of his forthcoming album, Life 1. The 21-show tour kicks off on October 10th in Mesa with stops in Dallas, Atlanta, New York, Toronto, and Chicago before wrapping up on November 10th in Los Angeles. Before embarking on the fall tour, Quadeca will make his debut at Fuji Rock Festival on July 25th and Lollapalooza on August 1st.
Artist pre-sale begins Wednesday, July 29 at 10AM local with general on-sale starting Friday, July 31st at 10 a.m. local time.
