LUDMILLA CULMINATES COACHELLA WEEKEND 2 AND HONORS BRAZILIAN MUSIC

Through her meteoric rise in the U.S and Latin market, the genre-bending superstar LUDMILLA officially wraps up her second weekend at Coachella by showcasing her Brazilian culture. Bringing Pagode and Funk-pop to both weekends at Coachella, she has won over a new audience and received Beyonce’s approval the first weekend, who opened up her set with a personalized audio note.
Ludmilla’s debut at Coachella was among one of the many trending topics both weekends, with the viral hashtag #Ludchella. Her incorporation of the LGTBQ community into her set by sharing a special kiss with her wife, in addition to an impactful message by Erika Hilton who is the first Brazilian transgender activist, became a media frenzy and was praised by celebrities such as Lauren Jauregui.
“As a queer international performer, she continues to open doors for what it means to spotlight the intersectionalities of Black women in music.” – Essence
During her electrifying performances, Ludmilla brought out Ryan Castro as a special guest to sing “Piña Colada”, song that was released earlier this month. It marks her first full Spanish alongside the Colombian hit maker.
While Ludmilla’s debut at Coachella will forever mark a huge milestone in her career, she continues expanding into the U.S and Latin America, while maintaining firm in incorporating her initial musical origins of funk-pop. Up next, Ludmilla – the first Afro Latina to reach one billion streams on Spotify and the 6th most listened to black female artist in the world – is set to kick off her tour ‘Ludmilla in the House’.
