Macklemore Captivates A Sold Out Toronto Crowd At REBEL

Rapper Macklemore, also known as Benjamin Hammond Haggerty, made his way to Toronto on Tuesday, September 26, 2023 to perform his sold out show, ‘The BEN Tour’ at REBEL which was presented by Live Nation.
DJ Nick Beeba opened the night with his energetic set, playing R&B, pop and rock hits. It was the perfect way to start the show as he had the crowd singing and dancing.
While fans of all ages were eagerly anticipating Macklemore’s arrival, Macklemore opened with ‘Chant’ and had everyone mesmerized. He discussed how thrilled he was to be back in Toronto and shared his love for the city. It was heartfelt, especially when he shared that he completed rehab in Canada, which forever changed his life. The show continued on as he took the audience through a journey of hits.

One thing that Macklemore does best is perform from his soul – he is a born star. His fans were engaged from beginning to end. Being present in the audience, you felt the love, the happiness and the unity throughout the entire venue. During the show, Macklemore asked Harrison, a 9 year old fan who looked dapper in a bow tie and dress shirt, to partake in a dance battle. When asked where Harrison was from, he loudly and proudly said, “Canada!”. In that moment, the crowd had already decided he was the winner.
Macklemore provided variety throughout the entire night. He is a true a story teller and shares his personal experiences though his music. He mentioned the importance of keeping people around you that genuinely want to see you win, and want nothing other than to see you happy. Shortly after, he shouted out his amazing and talented team, as they were a vital part of such an incredible show.

The night ended with a three song encore, “Tail Lights”, “Good Ol’ Days” and finally one of his greatest hits, “Can’t Hold Us Down”. After his performance, Macklemore looked at all of his supporters and with a smile, he said, “Toronto, tonight was one of those nights”.
