February 17th, Maggie Rogers came to Chicago with Special Guest Del Water Gap on her fourth stop of her “The Feral Joy” tour. This show was completely sold out at the Aragon Ballroom in Chicago’s Uptown. Past collaborator Del Water Gap opened up the show around 7:30 pm.

Being that Del Water Gap and Maggie Rogers have worked together in the past, Maggie’s crowd was excited to see him as well. The Crowd was already pretty full at the beginning of the night and only got more and more packed. Del Water Gap opened up with his song “Hurting Kind” off of his self-titled album. Throughout his set, he played mostly songs from that album along with “High Tops” from his EP titled “1 (646) 943 2672”. He even did a cover of Avril Lavigne’s “Complicated” which the crowd absolutely went crazy over. He ended off the set with his most popular song “Ode to a Conversation Stuck in Your Throat”.

Maggie Rogers came on shortly after around 8:30 pm. She kicked off her show with “Overdrive” from her new album “Surrender”. The crowd had now grown twice its size and was singing along to every word as Maggie danced around the stage and brought her music to life. She was such a joy to see perform and had such a strong stage presence. The majority of her set consisted of songs from “surrender” being as this was the tour for that album however she sprinkled some of her songs from past projects in the mix. In the middle of her set, she even brought back out Del Water Gap so they can perform “New song”  together and their voices complimented each other so well. It was also nice to hear Maggie give Chicago some love.

She mentioned how much she loves the city and how people always forget to mention Chicago when they praise New York or LA. Of course, the crowd loved that and cheered to that. Maggie finished the night with a two-song encore of her popular songs “Fallingwater” and Different Kind of World. Maggie continues to win audiences over with her soothing voice and wonderful stage presence. You can stream her newest album “Surrender” on Spotify or Apple Music.
