It was a brisk fall Monday afternoon as Bernice arrived at the Thompson Hotel in Atlanta’s elite community of Buckhead. Everyone was dressed in business attire and the staff was kind,
helpful, and generous to the media.

They showed the media where their designated area was going to be. It was a medium sized room setup with studio lighting, a blue carpet and an Atlanta Life Insurance Company backdrop. The staff briefed everyone on how operations were going to go. They told all the media how long each high profile attendee would be on the carpet and if they were available for questions and photos, or just photos.

Magic Johnson arrived first, and his press time was the main focus, where the media was allotted a full 20 minutes to take pictures of him and speak with him about acquiring his latest investment. News outlets like 11 Alive, and the Atlanta Journal Constitution were present as well as entertainment publications such as ourselves, IMPRINT, and Bet.com

This event was heavily focused on Magic Johnson acquiring Atlanta Life Insurance Company that was previously owned by a black HBCU and Stanford Business School graduate. His stance was this company was very important with aiding underprivileged african american communities with financial literacy. Once he was finished with answering questions, other notable celebs began to trickle in including, Cynthia Bailey, Kandi Burruss and Todd Tucker from The Real Housewives of Atlanta, Jermaine Dupri, Big Tigga, Eva Marcille and a few former NBA players.
