Melanie Martinez’s concert at The O2 in London on Friday 11 September 2026 was an amazing experience, and I would definitely recommend seeing her perform live. I was really excited to attend because I enjoy her music, and the concert turned out to be even better than I expected.
Before Melanie came on stage, the opening act, IDER, performed for the audience. I thought they were a good choice because their music had a calm, unique and interesting sound. I enjoyed their performance, although I felt that some of their songs were slightly too slow for my personal taste. I was naturally more excited to see Melanie, but IDER still did a good job of entertaining the crowd and creating a relaxed atmosphere before the main performance.
One of the best parts of Melanie Martinez’s concert was the stage design. The dark and unusual visuals fitted the HADES theme extremely well and helped create a mysterious atmosphere. The lighting and special effects also made the performance much more exciting and visually impressive. Melanie’s creative outfits were another highlight because they matched her distinctive style and fitted perfectly with the overall theme of the concert.
I particularly enjoyed hearing songs such as “GARBAGE”, “IS THIS A CULT?” and “THE VATICAN” performed live. Hearing these songs with thousands of other fans was an incredible experience. The crowd was singing along, which created a powerful and energetic atmosphere throughout the venue. The combination of the music, visuals, costumes and audience made the concert feel much more immersive than simply listening to the songs at home.
However, one criticism I had was that some parts of the concert felt quite slow. After the more energetic songs, the slower sections sometimes caused the atmosphere to drop, and I occasionally found myself losing interest. Although slower moments can be useful for changing the pace of a performance, I think having fewer of them would have made the concert even more exciting and engaging.
Overall, Melanie Martinez’s concert was exciting, creative and unforgettable. Despite a few slower moments, the music, costumes, lighting, special effects, stage design and enthusiastic crowd all contributed to making it a memorable night. I especially enjoyed seeing Melanie’s unique artistic style brought to life on stage. The concert was a great experience, and I would definitely see Melanie Martinez perform live again.
