Mitsubishi Motors Reports Third Quarter 2026 Sales

Mitsubishi Motors North America, Inc. (MMNA) reported third-quarter 2026 sales of 18,543 vehicles, with continued strength across the brand’s SUV lineup helping offset the planned discontinuation of the Mirage and Mirage G4.
Combined SUV sales increased nearly 10% during the quarter, led by Outlander, which continued to set the pace for MMNA with Q3 sales of 9,311 vehicles, up 27.1% compared with the third quarter of 2025. Outlander Sport also delivered strong growth, with quarterly sales of 5,902 vehicles, up 91.6% year over year, while year-to-date sales increased more than 76%. Eclipse Cross continued its positive performance as well, with year-to-date sales up 14.5% to 14,135 vehicles.
Overall MMNA sales declined 5.6% in the third quarter, primarily reflecting the planned discontinuation of the Mirage and Mirage G4, which accounted for more than 14% of MMNA’s sales in the third quarter of 2025.
Strength across Mitsubishi Motors’ SUV portfolio replaced more than 60% of the prior-year Mirage volume. Outlander benefited from the introduction of a more affordable LE trim and the distinctive Black Edition, while Outlander Sport growth was supported by increased availability of the entry level S trim and the September reintroduction of the 2WD variant. Eclipse Cross also continued to contribute to the brand’s SUV momentum.
With three SUVs starting below $30,000 MSRP, Mitsubishi Motors continues to deliver compelling value to customers through “America’s Best-Backed Vehicles,” supported by a 10-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty, five-year/unlimited-mile roadside assistance and two years/30,000 miles of included maintenance.
Looking ahead, MMNA continues to advance the comprehensive product renewal outlined in its recently updated Momentum 2030 midterm business plan. The next phase includes the refreshed Outlander Plug-in Hybrid and the launch of an all-new nameplate, the Eclipse Sportback EV, Mitsubishi Motors’ first fully battery-electric vehicle since the i-MiEV. These introductions will be followed by a rugged, off-road-focused Outlander variant early next year.
