NIA SMITH DROPS NEW VERSION OF DEBUT EP GIVE UP THE FEAR (+3)

British Musician Nia Smith has released debut EP Give Up The Fear (+3). Nia has had the most incredible year, picking up Ones To Watch nods from the likes of Billboard, NME, The Observer, Wonderland, Rolling Stone UK, ELLE UK, Vevo & many more.
The +3 version includes three new additions: “Personal” (Acoustic), the aforementioned “Reckless Soul” Vegyn remix & an acoustic cover of Lauryn Hill’s legendary hit “Ex-Factor.”
As a musical devotee of Lauryn Hill, Nia’s “Ex-Factor” cover is many years in the making and a true touching tribute to a song with an astounding legacy. Nia’s familiarity and respect for the original work brings a deftness and magic that’s seldom achieved. The single, “Reckless Soul” remix, sees Vegyn bring a full and rich instrumental production that finds additional depth in the original version.
The expanding +3 version comes after her long awaited debut project, that racked up millions of listens and had her fans clamoring for more. Preceding the EP, Nia kept a packed schedule, opening for Jordan Rakei at The Royal Albert Hall, going on a month long US & UK tour with British talent Elmiene and gracing the Later with Jools Holland stage for a mesmerizing performance.
Give Up The Fear +3 Tracklist:
1. Reckless Soul (alt version)
2. Ex-Factor
3. Personal (acoustic)
4. Little Red Car
5. Give Up The Fear
6. Reckless Soul (demo)
7. Personal
8. Don’t Cry
Nia’s core team for her EP consisted of herself, Ed Thomas (known for his work with Jorja Smith, Stormzy), Violet Skies (Diana Ross, Cat Burns) and Jimmy Napes (Alicia Keys, Sam Smith). For Nia, finding a team she feels supported by means feeling safe to be honest in her lyrics. This is because for Nia Smith, there is an inherent intimacy in what she’s putting down in her lines: “Writing songs is like…a place where I can tell all my secrets.”
Each single from the EP, “Give Up The Fear”, “Little Red Car” “Personal” & its second iteration featuring Popcaan, have been met with universal adoration from fans and have received huge press support from the likes of NME, British Vogue, The Independent, Line Of Best Fit, The Times, Wonderland, Brick, Rolling Stone and more.
