The legendary R35 generation of the Nissan GT-R is drawing to a close, marked by the unveiling of two limited-edition models.

Building upon the enhancements already revealed for the 2024 GT-R, the T-spec Takumi Edition and Skyline Edition honor the high-performance vehicle that has been a cornerstone of the Nissan range since its inception in 2007.

After over 17 years of captivating fans and delivering exhilarating driving experiences, the production of the GT-R for the North American market will conclude in October. Since its introduction, the R35 GT-R has offered performance and thrill that rival those of supercars, but at a more affordable price point. This has attracted a new wave of car enthusiasts in the U.S., and it has outperformed many pricier sports cars on the racetrack.

Special editions for a special send-off

The 2024 Nissan GT-R limited editions are set to be priced starting from a Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) of $151,090 for the T-spec Takumi Edition and $131,090 for the Skyline Edition. Both models are anticipated to be available at select Nissan dealers in the U.S. this summer. With fewer than 200 units expected to be available, this marks a unique and exclusive departure from the North American market.

Honoring talented craftspeople

The GT-R T-spec Takumi Edition pays tribute to the skilled takumi artisans who meticulously hand-assemble each GT-R VR38DETT engine. The engine badge, which acknowledges the takumi, will feature red-etched lettering, and a gold VIN plate will be prominently displayed in the engine bay. The red engine badge symbolizes a heightened level of precision in engine tolerances and component balancing during the assembly of the twin-turbocharged 3.8-liter V6.

Moreover, the T-spec Takumi Edition is a sight to behold with its Midnight Purple exterior – a nod to some of the most iconic special editions in the Skyline/GT-R lineage. The interior trim is also adorned in an exclusive Mori Green finish.

In line with the standard 2024 GT-R T-spec, the Takumi Edition also boasts several mechanical upgrades, including GT-R NISMO carbon-ceramic brakes, a gold-painted version of the NISMO’s RAYS® 20-inch forged wheels, NISMO-tuned Vehicle Dynamic Control, and broader front fenders.

Reflecting unforgettable scenery

The GT-R Skyline Edition brings the iconic name from overseas to the U.S. and references the abundant beauty found in skylines across Japan. Building on GT-R Premium, it wears Bayside Blue paint and features a stunning new Sora Blue interior color scheme. Once a staple of the car’s color palette, Bayside Blue was “retired” after the R34-generation GT-R and revived in 2019 for the 50th anniversary edition model.

Sunsets always come before a new dawn approaches

As the R35 GT-R departs, leaving behind a memorable legacy, Nissan is shifting its attention towards the future, concentrating on the forthcoming era of thrilling performance innovation.
