Real Boston Richey’s Welcome to Bubbaland campaign continues with the release of his new  single “The Type”. ‘Bubbaland,’ Richey’s major label debut album, arrived in September and earned Richey his first career Billboard 200 Albums Chart debut. “The Type” is now playing.

Real Boston Richey is “The Type,” and his new video puts you in the passenger seat for a day in his life, which is short of neither beautiful jewelry nor lady friends—routine sights for the rising star Richey. Memphis rapper YTB Fatt, a recent signee to Moneybagg Yo’s Bread Gang imprint, forms a formidable pairing with Richey, and the two take turns injecting energy into the Rich Porter-directed clip.

Real Boston Richey’s grassroots approach has built him a reliable audience that continues to grow with the “The Type” rapper and his catalog. Richey’s renowned ‘Public Housing’ mixtape series generated a cult following, and even as his sphere of influence widens, allowing for collaborations with Future (“Bullseye Pt. 2”) and Lil Durk (“Keep Dissing 2”), Richey continues to elevate the sound and formula that got him to where he is today—to the point that he didn’t invite any guests to feature on his debut album.

“With the Public Housing [albums], I gave so many top hit features to the point that I ain’t allow fans to see another side of me or see who I really was,” Richey tells Revolt. “That was the plan I came up with. The label heard it — they actually thought it was a good idea because nobody had that mind frame. So many people would just be big on the features and big on who they got on their album. I just wanted to be different.” 

His dedication to his vision—and his execution of it—is what distinguishes Real Boston Richey from his peers. And it’s why Welcome to Bubbaland is merely the beginning.
