RISING COUNTRY MAVERICK ELLA LANGLEY RELEASES TITLE TRACK “hungover” FROM JUST-ANNOUNCED UPCOMING DEBUT ALBUM
After announcing her upcoming debut album is on the way, rising country maverick Ella Langley has released the project’s evocative title track “hungover”. The song was co-written by Ella with Josh Kear and Chris Tompkins and marks the next step towards hungover the album, which is set for release on August 2, 2024.
“This has been my dream for my whole entire life, so releasing my very first record is a really good feeling, and I’m so proud of it,” says Ella. “Before this record was even finished, I remember driving around in my car listening to “hungover”, and it hit me that it was the perfect title to encapsulate this era of my life and all the feelings I’ve poured into the songs. There’s a lot of different ways you can be hungover, but Lord knows every hangover hurts.”
The 14-track hungover album, which Ella describes as “raw, fun, and emotional”, will feature previously released tracks “paint the town blue” and “nicotine”. To celebrate the announcement, Ella shared a stunning trailer on social media earlier this week featuring a very special monologue written by Ella with her mother Heather.

these stories
this moment
love
lust
soaring
crashing
taking a breath
looking back
you’ve made it through
laughing at your choices
crying over your mistakes
realizing the thing you want
isn’t the thing you need
living fully
finding your confidence
regretting your choices
fiercely standing up for yourself
making it through heartbreak
not taking yourself so seriously
learning your self-worth
being your own worst enemy
turning the page
true love
growing out of the person you were
into the person you are now
growth is painful
growth is hard
it is beautiful
and it can leave you feeling
hungover.
hungover follows Ella’s debut EP, Excuse The Mess, from May 2023. The singer-songwriter has been widely touted as an artist to watch and just the kind of maverick country music needs. She just wrapped up supporting on Riley Green’s ‘Ain’t My Last Rodeo’ Tour and following her performance today at CMA Fest on the Riverfront stage, she will be on the road throughout the remainder of the year supporting HARDY!, Luke Bryan, Dierks Bentley, and Morgan Wallen. She kicked off 2024 with “Strangers”, her duet with Kameron Marlowe, which impacted Country Radio last week with 36 first-week stations adding the track. With her first CMT Awards nomination under her belt for Collaborative Video of the Year for “That’s Why We Fight” feat. Koe Wetzel, Ella is well on her way to making 2024 a landmark year with the release of her upcoming debut album.
