RISING SEATTLE RAPPER YONNY TAKES FLIGHT WITH NEW SINGLE “JUMBO JET” FEATURING SANGO
Seattle is buzzing, and Yonny is at the center of the storm. The rising rapper returns with his brand-new single “Jumbo Jet” featuring fellow hometown hero and platinum-selling producer Sango [Drake, Frank Ocean, Bryson Tiller]. The track sets the stage for the Everywhere, But Always Deluxe Edition dropping September 19.
“Jumbo Jet” is classic Yonny: razor-sharp flows, self-made bravado, and soulful, hometown-rooted energy. Sango laces the beat with a wailing sax sample, heavy 808s, and restless hi-hats, giving Yonny space to flex lines like: “This ain’t a regular show, this is a biblical flow… I feel like I’m chosen like Bron, but I’m Kobe for real.” Together, the two embody Seattle’s distinct sound and spirit.
The cinematic video takes fans into the creative spaces that fuel the city’s scene—raw, communal, and distinctly Northwest. “When I made ‘Jumbo Jet,’ I was still running around all over my city working whatever jobs I could to support what I believe I was meant to do: make music,” says Yonny.“The friendship Sango and I built from our first phone call carries through this record—it’s literally an audio capsule of all my doubts, hopes, and dreams at that time.”
The single arrives on the heels of a breakout year for Yonny. His 2024 project, Everywhere, But Always, produced the Seattle anthem “City In Motion,” now at 3M streams and counting, plus widespread coverage from Seattle Times, Ebro, and On The Radar. He also repped his city through a celebrated Sounders FC x Hometown capsule campaign. Mundane Magazine praised him as “a voice that speaks for a city often overlooked—putting Seattle on the map.”
To mark the one-year anniversary of Everywhere, But Always, Yonny returns home on September 13, to headline an intimate Seattle show with a live jazz band—cementing his place as one of the city’s most important new voices.
From his early projects, Ghetto Sunset and “SK[I]NCARE” with Oble Reed, Yonny has built a movement rooted in resilience, storytelling, and his city. With “Jumbo Jet” and the forthcoming Deluxe Edition, he’s wheels up for a national takeover.
