RIZA AND PABLO ALBORÁN RELEASE “DEDITOS CRUZADOS”, BORN LIVE AT BILLBOARD LATIN MUSIC WEEK

THE RELEASE ARRIVES FRESH OFF PERFORMING THE NATIONAL ANTHEM AHEAD OF THE MIAMI DOLPHINS’ HOME GAME AGAINST THE KANSAS CITY CHIEFS

CONFIRMED TO PERFORM AT THE 2026 BILLBOARD LATIN MUSIC AWARDS

Rising Filipino-Cuban artist RIZA returns with “Deditos Cruzados”, her first release of the year and a new collaboration with Spanish singer-songwriter Pablo Alborán.

The release arrives on the heels of another major moment for RIZA, who last week was invited by the Miami Dolphins to perform the National Anthem at Hard Rock Stadium ahead of their home game against the Kansas City Chiefs.

The song first came to life during last year’s Billboard Latin Music Week, where RIZA joined Alborán and acclaimed Colombian producer Julio Reyes Copello for the Making the Hit Live panel. During the session, the three artists created a song live on stage in front of an audience, offering a glimpse into RIZA’s instinctive creative process and musical versatility. What began as a spontaneous experiment quickly evolved into something much bigger.

Blending Spanish influences with Moroccan textures and other global sounds, “Deditos Cruzados” became a meeting point between cultures and a reflection of RIZA’s approach to music: curious, fluid, and rooted in cultural fusion. What started as a one-time live creation now serves as an early introduction to the sonic world she is continuing to build through her forthcoming debut album.

Lyrically, “Deditos Cruzados” explores the aftermath of an unfinished love, the kind of connection that felt meaningful and real, but never fully became everything it could have been. The song captures the emotional space left behind when timing, fear, dishonesty, or circumstance keeps a relationship from moving forward.

Driven by a sense of hopeful nostalgia, RIZA and Pablo reflect not only on what was lost, but also on what might have been. Lyrics such as “aquí te sigo esperando / con mis deditos cruzados / tu carita no se olvida” reveal two people trying to move on while quietly holding onto the possibility that their story may still have another chapter.

With “Deditos Cruzados,” RIZA continues shaping a musical identity defined by cultural exchange, emotional honesty, and a willingness to bring seemingly distant influences into the same space, laying the foundation for the larger artistic vision behind her debut project.
