SEBASTIÁN YATRA CELEBRATES 10 YEARS OF “TRAICIONERA”, THE SONG THAT CHANGED THE COURSE OF HIS CAREER AND MARKED THE BEGINNING OF A DECADE OF STORIES

Award-winning Colombian singer-songwriter Sebastián Yatra is celebrating the 10th anniversary of “Traicionera,” the song that changed the course of his career and established him as one of the most recognized figures in Latin music. While Yatra had already begun building his artistic path following the release of his debut single “El Psicólogo” in 2013, it was the release of “Traicionera” in 2016 that marked a definitive turning point, introducing his music to audiences around the world.
With streams in more than 180 countries, “Traicionera” became a global phenomenon, reaching #1 on radio charts across Latin America, the United States, Spain, and Portugal. The song has earned five Diamond certifications and more than 29 Platinum certifications worldwide, surpassed 797 million streams on Spotify, and its official music video has accumulated more than 736 million views on YouTube. As the first major hit of his career, “Traicionera” laid the foundation for a trajectory that has made Yatra one of the most influential and recognizable voices in Latin music.
Over the past ten years, Yatra has evolved into one of Latin music’s leading figures, earning multiple international accolades, including two Latin GRAMMY® Awards, 14 Latin GRAMMY® nominations, and two GRAMMY® nominations, in addition to numerous other honors throughout his career. Following the success of “Traicionera,” he continued captivating audiences with songs such as “Robarte Un Beso” alongside Carlos Vives, “Un Año,” “Tacones Rojos,” and “Vagabundo,” while expanding his creative universe into acting, film, television, and theater. Among the most notable milestones during this period are his performance of “Dos Oruguitas,” the Academy Award-nominated song from Disney’s animated film Encanto, at the 2022 Academy Awards ceremony; his acting debut in a leading role in Netflix Spain’s ‘Once Upon a Time… Happily Never After’; his Broadway debut portraying Billy Flynn in Chicago; and, most recently, his role as a coach on The Voice Spain.
A decade after the release of “Traicionera,” Yatra continues writing new chapters. His latest album, ‘Milagro’, debuted at #7 on Spotify’s Global Top Album Debut Chart and has earned RIAA Platinum certifications in the United States and Puerto Rico, as well as Gold certifications in Colombia and Peru. He recently concluded the “Entre Tanta Gente Tour”, which traveled across Spain and Latin America and closed in Mexico with completely sold-out performances, reaffirming the connection he has built with his audience over the years.
Ten years after its release, “Traicionera” remains the song that changed everything, launching a career that has expanded beyond music to encompass acting and a cultural impact that continues to grow alongside millions of people around the world.
