SIIGHTS share new track ‘6AM To Paris’ + new EP ‘Through The Thick And Thin’ out March 22nd

SIIGHTS have dropped new track ‘6AMTo Paris’, which is available now on Insanity Records. The band have also confirmed details of new EP Through Thick And Thin, which is out on March 22nd and features recent bangers ‘Words’ and ‘Miss You’. Fresh from their first ever headline tour – including a London show at The Grace and dual sold-out homecoming dates in Dublin and Glasgow – SIIGHTS are also among the early names confirmed for TRNSMT Festival this summer.

‘6am To Paris’ is about reclaiming your power and re-writing your story after the end of a relationship – even in the so-called ‘city of love’. A break-up banger redolent of one of SIIGHTS’ musical heroes, Alanis Morrisette, its corruscating guitars, tight vocal harmonies and emotional defiance capture that liberation. “We always wanted to go here and visit Jim Morrison’s grave” acknowledges the once–romanticised unfulfilled plans made with partner; later in the chorus “can do this alone write a new story” is the realisation that you can romanticise your own life & give yourself the love you deserve whilst fulfilling your dreams. We’ve always been fascinated by how many people all over the world have love stories attached to Paris, and this song is about moving on but still being able to enjoy those places on your own.”

Through Thick and Thin is a five-track EP in which SIIGHTS sets themes of growth, grief, empowerment and self-acceptance to some of the band’s most indelible melodies thus far. As per all their previous work, this latest chapter was self-directed. Written, performed and produced by the duo between NYC, LA, Stockholm, London and Mia’s Dublin home studio, the project also sees SIIGHTS open themselves up to collaboration; notably with Grammy Award-winning producer Jenn Decilveo (The Strokes, Miley Cyrus) and platinum-selling Bastian Langebaek (Nilüfer Yanya, Anna of the North). “While the subject matter of some songs is quite heavy, the energy is actually very upbeat,” SIIGHTS comment. “We speak a lot about wanting people to feel good through our music, to feel less alone and realise your own potential. Sometimes you can be so focused on the future you can forget to live in the moment & be present for yourself & with the people you care about. Through Thick And Thin is about finding the joy, seeking out the freedom that lives on the other end of letting go & being present in the moment.”

Drawing on influences ranging from the classic rock of The Runaways to new-gen heroes like Muna or HAIM, there is clearly more to SIIGHTS than meets the eye. The distinctive double-I represents their two identities, but also hint at deeper allusions across the group’s lives (whether foresight, hindsight, or the broadened horizons they long to make as female producers and multi-instrumentalists in the creative industries). Mixing timeless ideas of mortality, surrender and self-care into the empowered model of a new wave of bands, SIIGHTS’ continued quest for that next meaningful connection makes them one of the UK’s most hopeful, and refreshing, propositions for the year ahead.

Through Thick And Thin is conceived by SIIGHTS as the first half of a 2-part EP project. Having toured with the likes of Lana Del Rey, Dylan, and Griff, watch out for more from the band to follow soon.
