SOUTHERN SOUL STAR TONIO ARMANI & HIP-HOP LEGEND LIL JON RELEASE JOINT PROJECT OUTSIDE FOR THE SUMMER
Southern Soul breakout star Tonio Armani and Hip-Hop legend Lil Jon release their highly anticipated joint project Outside For The Summer via Death Row Records/gamma., delivering a high-energy cross-genre celebration of Southern culture, sound, and lifestyle. Alongside the album release, the duo has also dropped the official music video for focus track “(B.O.B) Big Ole’ Butt” featuring Atlanta crunk pioneers Ying Yang Twins.
Across nine tracks, Outside For Summer seamlessly merges Tonio Armani’s deep, soulful Southern baritone with Lil Jon’s signature crunk-infused production. Primarily produced by Lil Jon, with additional contributions from Flinstone and Charlie Bereal, the project features a powerhouse lineup including Snoop Dogg, the Ying Yang Twins, and Nila Milan. By blending Southern Soul, R&B, gospel, blues, and crunk, the album captures the nostalgic yet modern spirit of backyard cookouts, trail rides, and summer nights, solidifying its place as the definitive soundtrack of the season.
The accompanying music video builds on that energy, leaning into a comedic summer pool-party vibe that brings the record’s world to life. Set at a lively house gathering, the visual follows the action as it moves from UNO games to basketball runs to nonstop dancing across the house and backyard, turning the space into a playful Atlanta-style celebration filled with humor, movement, and summer chaos.
“’Outside For The Summer’ is a celebration of my Georgia roots,” says Tonio Armani. “It’s inspired by the music I grew up on, the people who raised me, and the culture that shaped who I am today. This album is about being outside, enjoying life, making memories, and bringing people together through music.”
The release follows the breakout success of “Country Girl (Remix),” a defining Southern Soul record that united Tonio Armani and Lil Jon. The original “Country Girl” peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard R&B chart, surpassed 35 million streams, and sparked a viral line-dancing movement that continues to dominate social feeds, generating over 1 trillion user-created videos across platforms. The trend has seen widespread participation from cultural figures and creators including The Real Housewives of Atlanta stars Porsha Williams and Phaedra Parks, Dancing with the Stars winners Robert Irwin and Witney Carson, as well as moments featuring Jared Leto, Chris Brown’s dancers, Stacey Dash, Lizzo’s dance community, and appearances from Nick Cannon and McKenzie Brooke, further propelling Southern Soul deeper into the mainstream conversation.
Since signing to Death Row Records in 2024, Tonio Armani has quickly emerged as one of the defining new voices in Southern Soul. His sound blends gospel-rooted vocals, classic R&B sensibilities, and authentic Southern storytelling, building a rapidly growing fanbase and a catalog of standout records including “Help Me Find My Drawls” (30M), “Free At Last” (9M), “Sooner or Later” (7M), “All Night Long” (3.9M), “In My Feelings” (3.3M), “Cowgirl Trailride,” and appearing on label mate October London’s “Touch On Me Remix” and the Pharrell Williams produced “Spot,” from Snoop Dogg’s Iz It A Crime? album.
A dynamic live performer, Armani has appeared at major festivals and events including Dukes & Boots Festival at Atlanta Motor Speedway, One Music Festival, Jazz in the Gardens, Tom Joyner’s Fantastic Voyage, and most recently joined Snoop Dogg for the NFL Christmas Day Holiday Halftime Party, further cementing his status as one of Southern music’s most in-demand rising performers.
Born and raised in Columbus, Georgia, Tonio Armani’s artistry is rooted in lived experience, shaped by church, family, and Southern tradition. After serving 10 years in the U.S. Army, he brought discipline and purpose into his music career. His breakout moment came on TikTok, leading to viral momentum and co-signs from Bun B, Jazze Pha, Teddy Riley, Ne-Yo, Yella Beezy, Anthony Hamilton, Chris Brown, Paul Wall, Monica, Tweet, Tamar Braxton, and ultimately Snoop Dogg, who signed him to Death Row Records and continues to champion his rise.
With Outside For The Summer, Tonio Armani and Lil Jon deliver a celebration of Southern pride, culture, and community, proving the enduring global power and evolution of Southern Soul.
