Super Bowl 2018: Final Odds, Updated Prop Betting Advice And Expert Picks For Patriots Vs. Eagles

Written By | Alex Kay

Kickoff for Super Bowl LII is just a few hours away, giving potential bettors little time to make their final picks on this upcoming contest featuring the New England Patriots and Philadelphia Eagles. There’s a near-overwhelming number of options available to wager on, ranging from basic bets such as the point spread and total points scored to exotic props that cover everything from the pre-game coin toss to the post-game Gatorade bath and everything in between.

To make things even more complicated, the spread has been shifting almost continuously since opening with New England as a 5.5-point favorite following the conference championships. Those tracking the line movements have seen the odds steadily drop down to NE -4, before being bet back up to the range of NE -4.5 to NE -5, depending on where you look, at this juncture. The total has also waffled around 48 and 48.5, while experts believe the over/under has a strong possibility to drop to 47.5 or possibly even lower once sharps pounce on the under in the hours leading up to the big game.

Prop bets aren’t immune from changing odds either. Some of the biggest swings have been a result of the sportsbooks trying to find the right number for a bet that will draw action on both sides. It doesn’t always work out, as evidenced by one shop having to move the on Nick Foles’ passing yardage total down almost 20 yards after getting slammed with under bets at the opening figure. Another book had to completely remove a prop based on the projected number of “Dilly” utterances during the broadcast after receiving wildly lopsided action on the over. More on that in a moment…

Whether you are looking to casually wager on the point spread, put big money on a few props or something in between, it’s never fun to make a losing bet. It’s always wise to consult with an expert, which is why handicapper Jon Price of has been tasked with providing his final set of best bets for the big game. The Las Vegas pro has been tracking the Super Bowl line movement and come up with a final set of wagers for the spread, a top prop and pick for the game’s MVP that you won’t want to miss.
