On Thursday night, The Record Company brought their blues infused rock to Terminal West in Atlanta. Touring in support of their first album under new label Round Hill Records, titled “The Fourth Album”, the packed house rocked throughout the set!
Opening the evening, was Jesse Ahern, touring in support of his first album under Dropkick Murphy’s new label, Dummy Luck Music. Appropriately named “Roots, Rock, Rebel”. The Boston area native, had the crowd engaged with his everyman persona and style! His thoughtful, well-written songs tell you all you need to know about his struggles, the lessons learned and his compassion for the working men and women and the struggles they face. The set included: “Pray”, “I drive a Truck”, “The Older I Get”, “Highway of Life”, and the Clash cover “Bankrobber”, from his new album. Two songs from previous releases and he closed with Woody Guthrie’s “Logging Miles”. It was a great set which had the crowd engaged.

The Record Company raised the temperature and the roof of the packed house! This three-piece band consisting of Chris Vos (guitar, lead vocals), Alex Stiff (bass, backing vocals), and Marc Cazorla (drums, backing vocals), clearly showed three is all you need! They immediately got the crowd moving, with the tour namesake “Roll With It”! Their latest release, produced by bassist Stiff, much of it in his living room. The album sounds fantastic and is the songs play well live! The band combined four songs from the new album, along with fan favorites “Movie Song”, the lap steel infused ‘Rita Mae Young” and of course fan favorite “Off The Ground”. The acoustic versions of “Talk To Me” and “I Found Heaven (In My Darkest Days)” were energetic and sure to become new fan favorites.

This was my first time seeing them live, and now I understand why they have such dedicated fans. More than a few I talked to had seen them several times, in locations throughout the U.S. If you’re into rocking blues, they are a must see band!
