Multiplatinum hip-hop icon, Too $hort, officially released his highly anticipated new album, SIR TOO $HORT, VOL. 2 – DRINK & SMOKE, available HERE via EMPIRE.

The latest chapter in the legendary rapper’s Sir Too $hort series finds the Oakland native continuing to celebrate the sound, culture and influence of the West Coast while bringing together an all-star lineup of collaborators, including E-40, Snoop Dogg and Ice Cube on behalf of Mount Westmore, Tyga, Saweetie, Lil Jon, King George, comedian Godrey and more.

Leading the release is the album focus track “Out Tonight,” featuring singer/songwriter King George that talks about wanting to have a night out on the town with a special lady. The song will be accompanied by an official music video that follows Too $hort during a lively night out in Houston alongside King George, Scarface, and Robert Glasper.

SIR TOO $HORT, VOL. 2 – DRINK & SMOKE also marks another major collaboration between Too $hort and Lil Jon, who served as a producer on the project alongside his late son, DJ Young Slade. The partnership reunites two longtime collaborators whose chemistry helped create era-defining records including “Blow The Whistle” and “Shake That Monkey,” while continuing to bridge generations of hip-hop fans.

“Drink & Smoke” featuring E-40 and Tyga, served as the first taste of the project, which delivered that iconic, swaggy, signature West Coast hip-hop sound that may have come to know and love. Released during the 20th anniversary year of “Blow The Whistle,” Too $hort’s highest-selling single to date, the record celebrated the enduring influence of one of hip-hop’s most recognizable voices while showcasing his ability to remain culturally relevant decades into his career.

At 60 years old, Too $hort continues to defy industry norms, proving that longevity in hip-hop isn’t just about legacy—it’s about staying creatively active. At an age when few rappers are still releasing new music, he remains one of the rare pioneers continuing to evolve while adding to one of the genre’s most enduring catalogs.

SIR TOO $HORT, VOL. 2 – DRINK & SMOKE follows 2025’s SIR TOO $HORT, VOL. 1 – FREAKY TALES, which marked his first studio album in five years and featured appearances from Snoop Dogg, Larry June, Jazze Pha and more. The project coincided with the release of Lionsgate’s Freaky Tales, for which Too $hort served as executive producer and narrator. Named after his seminal 1987 hit, the film paid tribute to Oakland and featured an acclaimed cast including Pedro Pascal, Tom Hanks, Jay Ellis, Normani, Dominique Thorne, Angus Cloud and Ben Mendelsohn.
