YUNG LEAN AND BLADEE RELEASE NEW SINGLE “INFERNO” VIA TRASH ISLAND

Following the release of their groundbreaking collaborative 2024 album Psykos, Yung Lean and Bladee return with a new single together. Produced by long-time collaborator Whitearmor, “INFERNO” arrives with an accompanying music video directed by Gus Reichwald, which follows the two artists across the past few months. During a string of summer festivals, the Stockholm-based duo debuted their new collaborative live show featuring music from across both artists’ catalogues. It was revealed yesterday that they will be taking the show further afield with the announcement of Laneway Festival, which will feature Yung Lean & Bladee performances across six cities in Australia and New Zealand. This fall, both artists will head out on their own respective headlining tours, the Forever Yung Tour and the Martyr Tour.
Starkly different than the guitar-led melodic ballads of Psykos, “INFERNO” finds the two artists rapping over a blissed-out Whitearmor composition. Yung Lean and Bladee first connected over their love for rap music in high school, so it only makes sense to circle back to the genre in a real way following the release of sonic left turns Psykos and Yung Lean’s vulnerable, beautiful Jonatan album. Meanwhile, Bladee has continued to expand his sound with Ste the Beautiful Martyr 1st Attempt earlier this year and his widely-celebrated Cold Visions in 2024.
Industry outsiders, genre pioneers, style icons, underground superstars, emotional pop culture bellwethers – there are many ways to describe the mercurial Swedish stars Yung Lean & Bladee – the King of the Sad Boys and The Drain Gang CEO. Their respective Sad Boys and Drain Gang movements have steadily become household nomenclature over the last decade. Yung Lean and Bladee have come a long way since they rose out of the fog of early 2010s YouTube and Soundcloud rap showing incredible lasting power and an outsized influence on trends from fashion to music.
