Ambré Returns With New Single, “Laugh later, Cry now”
Grammy award-winning recording artist Ambré returns with her new single “Laugh later, Cry now”, available to stream on all platforms via Roc Nation Nation Distribution.
Opening with the haunting line, “Eyes portray your innocence, not the same as advertised, I could lose, but I still try, traveled back to the memories you have stained,” Ambré immediately pulls listeners into a reflective and emotionally charged space. As the record unfolds, she leans into vulnerability, confessing, “A thousand times thought we had something good, maybe it’s good for nothing,” capturing the tension between hope and disillusionment.
Inspired by peyote, a psychoactive cactus whose name stems from the Nahuatl peyōtl, meaning “caterpillar cocoon”. The song sets the stage for a transformative journey, guided by an enchanting melody. On this new release, Ambré’s New Orleans roots shine through, with the city’s cultural melting pot subtly shaping the tone of the track.
The release follows a series of defining moments for the artist. Ambré recently appeared on the cover of YAMS Magazine’s The Sacred Issue (2026), signaling a striking new creative era. Her 2025 single “She” further cemented her as a standout voice in modern R&B. Her 2024 mixtape i do this sht in my sleep* showcases her raw authenticity across six tracks. Featuring collaborations with Alex Isley and fellow New Orleans artist Treety, the project highlights her ability to merge intimate storytelling with genre-blurring production.
Ambré first gained recognition with her critically acclaimed EPs Pulp and Wanderlust, projects that highlighted her signature fusion of soulful melodies and contemporary production. Since signing to Roc Nation as a multi-hyphenated artist in the music industry, she has collaborated with notable acts such as Chlöe x Halle, Kehlani, and H.E.R., with whom she received a Grammy for her contribution to her self-titled album.
