Bring a Trailer and Pennzoil Partner with Larry Chen on Charity Auction to Benefit the 43 Institute

The winner will receive a full-day photo shoot with the world-renowned photographer, with all proceeds going to support the late Ken Block’s foundation

Automotive auction platform and enthusiast community Bring a Trailer (BaT) and leading global lubricant brand Pennzoil have teamed up with world-renowned car culture and commercial automotive photographer Larry Chen on a special charity auction to benefit the 43 Institute. The winner of the auction will receive a full-day photo shoot with Larry Chen, and all proceeds will go directly to support Ken Block’s greatest legacy: creating paths of opportunity for the exceptionally driven who may lack the proper support system for growth and success.

The seven-day no-reserve auction begins today and will conclude on Friday, Nov. 17. The winner will receive a full-day photo shoot of their vehicle or collection with Larry Chen anywhere in the United States. Larry Chen will collaborate with the winner on shoot details and provide 50 edited digital photographs along with four select 24 x 36-inch signed prints. The entire sale price, including the 5% BaT buyer’s fee, will go directly to the 43 Institute. Pennzoil will provide additional support, including fees and travel costs.

“I would not be where I am today without Ken Block. I pushed super hard to get the best imagery possible whenever I was shooting Ken, whether he was racing or working on the many large-scale Gymkhana-style productions. This put my photography on the world stage, and also cemented my pictures into car culture history,” said Larry Chen. “We all dearly miss him so much in the enthusiast community and doing this charity shoot is the smallest way I can honor him today.”

The auction is hosted by Pennzoil as part of its partnership with BaT to support a shared passion for enthusiast vehicles and the experiences enjoyed by their drivers through the brand’s “Long May We Drive” philosophy.

“At Pennzoil, we share the same passion for cars as you do, and we’re committed to backing individuals who share our enthusiasm. That’s precisely why we’ve joined forces with Larry Chen and Bring a Trailer to back the 43 Institute’s noble cause,” said Andrea Bottini, marketing manager for Pennzoil. “We all hold dear a special image of our beloved cars, and now, you have the opportunity to have 50 of these moments captured by one of the most renowned automotive photographers, all in the name of a worthy cause.”

“Larry’s work is admired and loved by car enthusiasts the world over, and we are thrilled to work with him and Pennzoil on this special auction,” said Randy Nonnenberg, co-founder and president of Bring a Trailer. “Bringing our respective communities together to provide a once-in-a-lifetime experience for the winner while supporting the legacy of one of our generation’s most well-known athletes is truly special.”
