BunnaB Takes Over Midtown’s Center Stage in Atlanta

Written and Captured By | Aleni Barkley

Midtown Atlanta was buzzing with excitement as a flood of BunnaB fans filled the streets. The energy was palpable even before the venue doors opened. Groups of young women, dressed in matching outfits, gathered outside, snapping selfies and chatting animatedly as they waited in line. The line itself wrapped around the block, curling from the corner of 17th Street to West Peachtree Street. The buzz of anticipation grew stronger with each passing minute.

Parked nearby was a gray SUV decked out in Hot 107.9 branding, a clear indication that the popular local radio station was onsite to cover the much-anticipated event. BunnaB, now taking center stage as a headliner for the first time, had clearly captured the city’s attention. Vendors stood outside the venue selling official merchandise—T-shirts and hoodies emblazoned with fan-favorite phrases like “Bunna Summa” and “Ice Cream Girl”. Inside, the venue was packed wall-to-wall. Latecomers shuffled toward the back of the crowd, voicing their disappointment about not arriving earlier to claim a better view.

As the crowd waited, the DJ kept spirits high with an energetic setlist of popular songs. Every track seemed to hit the right note, with the audience singing along in unison. Throughout the evening, fans randomly shouted BunnaB’s well-known ad-lib “La-Da-Da-Da”, and chanted the names of her hits, including “Bunna Summa” and “Ice Cream Girl”. When Fly Guy DC, the evening’s charismatic host, took the stage, he engaged the crowd by inviting select fans to come up and perform for a chance to win exclusive merchandise. The audience responded enthusiastically, cheering on participants as they danced and sang.

Excitement reached a fever pitch as the moment everyone had been waiting for finally arrived. The room erupted in high-pitched screams the moment BunnaB stepped onto the stage at The Loft at Center Stage. The atmosphere shifted from excited chatter to full-blown celebration. From the very start, BunnaB commanded the stage with her presence and energy. She wasn’t confined to one spot—she danced and moved with purpose, making sure to connect with every section of the crowd.

Midway through her set, BunnaB surprised the audience by bringing out fellow Atlanta artists Baby Kia and YK Niece. The audience went wild when BunnaB and YK Niece launched into their collaborative hit “Innit”, a crowd favorite. YK Niece also performed her own track, “Whim Whamiee”, which was met with just as much enthusiasm. Cell phone flashlights lit up the venue like stars, illuminating the faces of young girls singing every lyric with pride and passion. Though there were a few men scattered throughout the venue, the overwhelming energy made it feel like a celebration of womanhood—a true girls’ night.

One of the most powerful moments came when BunnaB performed an unreleased track in honor of Pride Month. The song, which celebrated lesbian love and identity, was both emotional and empowering, further cementing BunnaB’s deep connection with her fans. She took a moment to thank them for their continued support, expressing gratitude for sticking with her from the beginning of her musical journey.

As the show came to a close, the message was clear: it’s a “Bunna Summa.” The bright red “SOLD OUT” sign next to BunnaB’s name at Center Stage said it all. This wasn’t just a concert—it was a milestone.
