Genesis GV70 and Electrified GV70 secure IIHS Top Safety Pick+ honors

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) announced that the 2025 Genesis GV70 and 2024 Electrified GV70 SUVs earned TOP SAFETY PICK+ (TSP+) designations for vehicles built after April 2024, making Genesis the automotive brand with the most TSP+ ratings as of September 2024. The TSP+ award identifies the best vehicle choices for safety within their respective categories. This year’s evaluation upgraded GV70 and the Electrified GV70 from their prior TOP SAFETY PICK ratings.

2024 TSP+ Criteria:

To qualify for 2024 TOP SAFETY PICK+, a vehicle must earn good ratings in the small overlap front and updated side test and no less than acceptable in the updated moderate overlap front test. It also must earn an acceptable or good rating for pedestrian front crash prevention and come with standard acceptable- or good-rated headlights.

All Genesis models are equipped with a comprehensive suite of exceptional active and passive safety technologies, including Forward Collision Avoidance-Assist with Pedestrian Detection, Lane Keeping Assist, Blind-Spot Collision Warning and more. Each vehicle in the Genesis line-up offers standard advanced safety features that help avoid crashes and provide advanced occupant protection when crashes do occur.

The 2025 Genesis GV70 and 2024 Electrified GV70 are equipped with a robust set of safety and driver assistance technologies, including:

  • Eight standard airbags, including front, side and curtain for both driver and passenger, a driver knee airbag and a center airbag to protect against injury in the event of an accident.
  • Highway Driving Assist* helps center the vehicle within the driving lane at an appropriate speed, while keeping a safe distance to the car in front.
  • Rear Cross-Traffic Collision Avoidance Assist**, providing audible and visual warnings and apply brakes when the vehicle detects a potential collision.
  • Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist***, helping reduce the chance of potential impact with a vehicle that is detected in the blind spot.
  • High Beam Assist to help keep the driver and others safe by automatically turning on and off your high beams based on the ambient light and illumination from the headlamps of oncoming vehicles.
  • Genesis Connected Services and Connected Care, providing always-on connection and allowing for peace-of-mind safety features like Automatic Collision Notification, Enhanced Roadside Assistance, and SOS Emergency Assistance when the vehicle has access to a cellular network connection.
