Walking through the walls of the Wiltern on the corner of Wilshire and Western in anticipation of an amazing night. Concert goers eagerly enter with catchy alternative tunes in their minds awaiting a night full of bass, moshing, and a resonance to the edgy lyrics.

The first musician to come on stage goes by the name of Jack Kays. An incredible Ohio native played some tunes that carried an intense emotional depth. Talking about a plethora of struggles that I felt the majority of the audience could relate to. An amazing voice accompanied by an incredible message makes the perfect pairing for fantastic and enjoyable music.

We could only level up from there and amazing performance was to be had by genre-bending innovator K.Flay. Kristine Meredith Flaherty was about to absolutely rock the house down. The way she connected with her audience gave such a palpable feeling. You felt heard and seen by her incredibly touching lyrics. Each song was better than the last with my favorite TGIF coming on. This song was absolute heaven to my ears; a perfect mixture of voice and an incredibly catchy melody. At one point she came on stage to open up about her struggle with hearing loss. What a hard thing for a musician to go through. She was then able to release an album and go on tour! A truly impressive and resilient artist, just absolutely incredible.

Last, but not least was Grandson. The band most of the audience was most eager for. Coming onto the stage with a forest photo background and sitting on a beach, this was a-kin to his album photo in which the musician was positioned the same way. They opened up with one of their all-time hits Blood // Water. Hard hitting words with a heavy bass line just filled the entire Wiltern and the audience went crazy. Their lighting technician absolutely popped off with their set and design of the stage. A truly fantastic show, and a night to remember forever.
