HBCU GO BRINGS THE SOUTHERN HERITAGE CLASSIC TO PRIMETIME SEPTEMBER 12
Alcorn State and Arkansas-Pine Bluff Return to Memphis for a SWAC Rematch
Allen Media Group’s HBCU GO, the premier destination for HBCU sports and culture, continues its fifth season of football coverage with the 37th Southern Heritage Classic, featuring Alcorn State University vs. the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff (UAPB).
The primetime matchup brings the two SWAC programs back to Memphis following a tightly contested 2025 game, where UAPB rallied to defeat Alcorn State 24–20. This year, the Golden Lions return to the Classic looking to build on last season’s victory, while the Braves head back to Memphis with an opportunity to turn the tables.
Beyond the action on the field, fans can experience the pageantry that makes the Southern Heritage Classic a destination weekend, including performances from UAPB’s Marching Musical Machine of the Mid-South and Alcorn State’s Sounds of Dyn-O-Mite.
HBCU GO President and Co-Founder Curtis Symonds will also serve as the special guest speaker at the Southern Heritage Classic Coaches Luncheon presented by FedEx on Friday, September 11, honoring UAPB Head Coach Alonzo Hampton and Alcorn State Head Coach Cedric Thomas.
Fans can catch all the action across HBCU GO’s expanding lineup of broadcast, digital and streaming platforms:
