HUDSON STONE’S DEBUT SINGLE, “OVERTHINKER” OUT NOW!
Rising star Hudson Stone’s debut single, “Overthinker”, is out now! Hudson announced “Overthinker” June 9th, and the fan reaction was explosive with thousands of TikTok & Instagram creations exuberantly proclaiming “Overthinker” is their favorite song and teeming with fire emojis. Fans are already lobbying for Hudson to perform “Overthinker” during his arena tour this fall. Hudson wrote “Overthinker” along with Brian Phillips and Toni Ferrari, and perfectly sets the tone for Hudson’s musical journey – vintage guitar riffs, a dulcet yet gritty toned voice and an innate knack for storytelling that both intrigues and captures its listeners.
“Overthinker” grapples with the theme of the head vs. the heart. Said Hudson Stone of the song, “I wrote ‘Overthinker’ because all my life, I’ve been told that I’m such a deep thinker, which is very true, but it tends to lead to overthinking, which can sometimes get in my way. Falling in love, people tend to overthink because they care so deeply about it. When I fell in love, it was the first time I just didn’t think, and my heart took over. So, this song is a reminder to people that love is all about diving in with your whole heart.”
Truly an old soul at heart, Hudson is inspired by such artists as Dominic Fike, John Mayer, The Strokes and Leon Bridges. That inspiration helped define Hudson’s sound – effortless, grungy, guitar-centric songwriting and storytelling, modernized classic indie music, soulfulness and warmth.
Hudson has been working with an a-list team of writers and producers in preparation to roll out multiple singles and eventually his debut album, including Johan Carlsson (Ariana Grande, James Arthur) and Rickard Göransson (Ariana Grande, Ellie Goulding) of MXM; John Ryan (Niall Horan, One Direction) and Afterhrs (Niall Horan, Teddy Swims); Josh Varnadore (One Republic) and Simon Oscroft (almost monday, One Republic); and Brian Phillips (I DON’T KNOW HOW BUT THEY FOUND ME, MisterWives) and Tony Ferrari (almost monday).
Hudson recently signed to Hollywood Records, and has a busy summer and fall lined up. This summer, Hudson will star in the role of “Desi” in the highly anticipated “Camp Rock 3” movie followed by his first arena tour as part of the “Worlds Collide Concert Tour” kicking off in September. Born and raised in Los Angeles, Hudson picked up a guitar a five years old and hasn’t put it down since. With an Australian father, and a half-Korean mother, his world has always been shaped by a mix of cultures and influences. On any given day you’re likely to find him studying for a calculus final, watching a Dallas Cowboys game or surfing in Malibu.
